This is really only good news for people who still have Brink, and haven't traded it in to get what little it's worth yet.

@Gibbeynator what's with the hate on brink? Personally, I found the game a good foundation for a sequel or updates. Granted it wasn't as well polished as say bad company 2, but they both are really good team based shooters, which ever way you look at it.

Yea, I bought it preorder on Steam and regretted it ever since. Last time I jump the gun and preorder a game at full price before its release.

The hate comes from the fact that it's true. I've heard people say that NO amount of patches or DLC can fix this.

@Gibbeynator,

I rented Brink yesterday.

I drove back and asked to exchange it.

Rented Need For Speed Shift 2.

I am HAPPY.

@Dark ELITE12 I think it was worth $40. Maybe not $60 like most launch titles, but a very easy-to-get $40 launch game (K-Mart Promo, etc) is worth it to me. I think the game's alright as well.

Then again, I'm one of those people who buys a lot of the middle-of-the-road to lower titles when they go down in price and enjoy em.:)

Honestly? I'm not surprised. They focused entirely on "evolving combat" and whatnot, and DLC, and attachments, and all sorts of other crap. They seem to have forgotten the golden rule: If you can't play the effing game, then there's no reason to have it. Stories of crippling stuttering like that of Call of Duty: Black Ops filled my screen release day, and have continued ever since.

Thankfully, I wised up, and waited for a demo. As you see, there is no demo, so I will not be buying until it's $10 or $20 on Steam. Funny enough, I took the money I meant to buy Brink with, and I bought, for a fraction of the price, Section 8: Prejudice. Best frelling deal ever.

I'm pretty amped that with the new maps they're adding new abilities and outfits it gives me hope that this game could be really really great with even more future DLC

I love how it's implied that PC gets it last.

Also, it would be nice if I could get more than 10-25 FPS with everything turned down and off, on my ATI card.

Oh, and while we're at it, how about some game balance, fix the bug that makes the sound go out, the bug that makes the text garbled (introduced in the first patch!), the freezing, and on and on.

It's funny. The defense is already horrible overpowered (slap down a few mines and camp camp camp those objectives), and almost all the new abilities will only benefit those who can hold one small area for a long time, in other words the defense.

Oh yeah, and what about the game not having one hit kills? Funny, that's exactly what sniper rifles have on lights and mediums.

Hooray for developers lying and releasing completely unfinished games.

"Hooray for developers lying and releasing completely unfinished games"

I couldn't agree more with your sarcasm. I hate that the industry seems to be pushing more to release unfinished games and hope to "finish" them through patches after a few weeks/months.

I don't understand the hate for this game. If you aren't interested in it, then don't come on here and post comments complaining about game that you, "traded in to get what little it's still worth".

I personally love this game. Yeah, it wasn't perfect. Yeah, it has it's issues. But it doesn't keep the basic formula from being fun if you play it with some friends. And the patches so far have been released quickly and for the right reasons... *cough cough* Fallout New Vegas *cough cough*

The DLC is welcome to me, especially since it's... FREE!!!!

@Aesir Renegade I actually enjoy the game, but I do see some serious flaws. Everyone wants to point out little things like garbled text which isn't as bad as they make it out to be and certainly doesn't affect gameplay.

The gameplay itself is another matter. The parkour stuff is great but the animations stutter so badly and the framerate fluctuates wildly. Still, a decent platform to improve upon.

I am replying to you though, to say that it is really bad form to ask that people not voice their dislike. They have just as much right to complain as you do to heap praise upon the game.

I do wish more of the criticism was constructive and not just stories about driving to blockbuster to return it or whatever.. but this IS the Internet after all. So I'll take what I can get. If it weren't for criticism a lot of patches and content never would have seen the light of day for other titles.

I understand where ur coming from. We really should expect more from dev's who r asking for our hard earned money for their games. I purchased Brink day one and just never quite felt that it was worth $60. That being said, I do feel that the level of enjoyment a person gets out of a game is subjective. You and I may not have thought Brink was that great, but the other guy enjoyed it. So to him he got his money's worth. To him it's not settling for 2nd best. Perfect is such a hard thing to define, are there really any PERFECT games? Even the games that are my favorite have minor flaws. Just playing devil's advocate...take it for what it's worth.

@Baroman It must be better on PC somehow if you look at the reviews G4 gave it. They gave the 360 & PS3 versions a 2/5, while giving the PC version a 4/5!!!

I'll stop hating on it when its actually worth the $50 I paid for it. Until then its an unfinished pile of garbage in my eyes.

If you like it though, more power to ya but I can't stand unfinished games. Even if it has the potential to be great (like Brink does).

What, no bot fix? Jiminy Christ, bots that scaled to your level was somewhat challenging, until you factor in your team doesn't work with you.

...I'm having networking issues, and consistently losing the same map three times in a row is freaking disheartening.

Free or not, I STILL hate DLC this soon after launch.

I have really enjoyed brink. I agree if it's your only game for six months maybe not but I don't agree with the 'broken' comments. But yeah I don't advise all the pre orders. Wait for a review if u have certain requirements that make a game acceptable to you

"UAV – This stealthy and lethal device allows Operatives to automatically mark nearby enemies on their radar. For more explosive fun, they can even take direct control of the UAV and detonate it near unsuspecting foes."

Totally saw that one coming, They left the Audio file in the original game for it, and you can even hear one of the voices on the Security side say something about launching a UAV when listening to the voices in the selection screen.

Silly haters, can't handle a bit of real teamwork beyond "everyone shoot the guys on the other team!"

I already got the Plat (I will grant that it wasn't terribly difficult) but I'm still playing it. I got the Plat shortly after getting my first character to level 20, and now I have three level 20s, a level 17, and a level 1. I hope to have all 10 character slots loaded with level 20s. I see it as a great cross between K3's class- & objective-based gameplay, R2's co-op mode, and Mirror's Edge.

Of course the game's not perfect. What game is? (-cough- javelin glitch, unlimited care packages anyone? Fallout games that still have freezing glitches years after launch?) But it's a solid title, that will improve over time with patches and DLC.

And to the guy whining about defenders laying down mines and camping: Maybe if your team had a decent Operative (or *you* were a decent Operative), those mines would be spotted, marked, and destroyed before they ever became a problem. But I guess that would require teamwork.
