Special edition Tales of Xillia PS3 bundle coming to Japan

Japanese PS3 buyers have the choice of another special-edition console, should they decide to give their Gran Turismo 5 blue or Final Fantasy XIII white systems a rest. The "Tales of Xillia X Edition" PS3 system is the usual "Charcoal Black" PS3 color, but with metallic red and gold artwork on the top depicting the characters Jude and Milla. The PS3 logo is also red, which does more to make the thing seem "special-edition." Maybe we're just weird.

The 160GB system will be released in Japan on September 8, bundled with a copy of Tales of Xillia for ¥37,980 ($470). While it's no longer completely ridiculous to think a Tales game will be localized, don't expect to see this one in American stores anytime soon. Of course, PS3 games are region-free, so you can totally import one of these and play American games on it!

I am from the UK I have been able to drink for 3 years, I had only just woken up so was not exactly awake.

But anyways I will properly buy this if it get brought over to Europe else I will just settle for the game.

Even though I have no idea who Jude and Milla are, I'd still buy this and think it's one of the best looking special editions out there. Very nice.

That looks nice, but considering how my PS3 is placed I'm not really able to see much of it anyway.

Very slick. Very Japanese looking. Would fit right in with that kind of decor. LIke the color scheme as well. Bold but muted and not yelling at me.

i actually think it looks hot. mainly because it looks unique.

The difference between special editions is that the artwork n such is engraved or painted. I know DecalGirl has matte, but this is still of higher quality.

Just a warning to those thinking of picking this up. Import PS3s, while they are region free, are often not coded for properly in games. Just Cause for instance, has it's controls so messed up, that it's impossible to play. While most games don't have issues ,there are a few in which either the controls are mixed up slightly or so bad that you might as well just not even play. Owning an import system is fun.. you have something no one else has here.. but just know what you're getting yourself into.

@Shockwave Imported special edition systems like this aren't meant to be played anyways .. I'd totally glass case this shit and hang it up on my wall or something.

I'm a huge Tales fan and have been holding out on getting a PS3 till Sly 4 or maybe Persona 5 lol....buuuuut....*ponders importing as his wallet begs for mercy*

My question is this, why does Japan only get the special editions. Always missed opportunities for these guys.

To bad they don't bring any of these to Europe, and while I like these special editions I am not so keen I buy a japanese console to trade the case with my european one (to avoid region issues), as my guess a japanese console wouldn't get a great price on ebay.
