We can't dispute that UFC Undisputed 3 is set for January 2012
24
Looks like THQ's plan to take a little longer between the releases of UFC Undisputed games has been put into action. The third in the series, which drops the yearly nomenclature for the more ambiguous UFC Undisputed 3, is set to arrive in January 2012.
The official release promises two new weight classes and better accessibility, but the attached images promise tantric hugging and branded T-shirts. So, something for everyone, we suppose.

@(Unverified) I am pretty sure, and go with me on this one. In Cricket the ball is pitched, then hit oh and there are fielders technically that have to throw or PASS the ball back.
What is your disputing argument that MMA is not a sport? Forms of MMA have been around since like 648b.c. with the Olympic games. Now I am not a typical "UFC is the S***, I wear tapout like I actually fight" but I do enjoy the sport.

@(Unverified)...MMA can trace it's roots back to Pankration, like the guy above commented, 648 BC, it's one of the first sports ever introduced to the ancient Olympic games.

I guess this isn't really a problem as I follow up on these games, but I wish Joystiq would report on the more important additions like the Pride fights & rulesets and new submission system that the game is adding.. and not on the less important additions considering they didnt' even give out that much info yet.
Kind of same kind of criticism on the other thq title, WWE '12 that had some pretty good new gameplay changes coming but weren't reported here.

Stop being a douchebag. MMA is pretty mainstream now and is here to stay. Maybe you're mad because you don't understand the juijitsu part of it. Too bad, it's really a great sport.

Whoa, judging from that picture, I could've sworn this was some sort of exclusive first-look at the Rise of the Planet of the Apes movie tie-in...

And much like the WWE games, a good fraction of its purchasing worth is in the "Create a Fighter/Wrestler" mode, where I can vent my frustrations on reality TV stars by creating them, giving them horrible stats, and watching them get the bludgeoning they deserve.
Or some badly scaled derp-of-a-guy. Either or.

@Pennegan It's Uriah Faber, he actually looks like that http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm196/rawrdog45/24_UriahFaberWEC31weigh.jpg . For some reason females like the hair and the buttchin.

a solid point, the addition of a Pride mode is certainly news worthy along with what is a well needed overhaul of the submission system.
I hope they revamp the CAF mode, which was pretty much an exercise in Excel management.

UFC 2009 = Great
UFC 2010 = Little better, but some worse
UFC 3 = Not picking up for a long time, used price about $20.

I'm not even sure what's going on with the article's picture? Looks like the dude is just relaxing, using the other guy as a pillow. Maybe he's a little discomforted, like he smelled a fart or something, but not exactly what I'd expect given that the other guy seems to have him locked into something which I'm sure has an official name

It's called the Crucifix position for obvious reasons. You can see a good (and brutal) example of how effective it is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4eK7yXD8Zg&feature=related

Nice, I skipped the last one. Seemed like a minor upgrade. This seems to have the goods.
