The Battlefield 3 asset onslaught continues with trailers featuring a clip of the games' multiplayer and showcasing the Frostbite 2 engine.
John Andersson, Rendering Architect at DICE on Frostbite, noted on his Twitter that the Frostbite trailer contains a mix of PC and console footage. He wonders if you can guess which is which?
I feel bad about how much I do not care about this game's campaign mode. Surely something I wrong with me when I'm almost completely getting this game just for its multiplayer.
The destruction engines and class-based warfare is a good reason to be excited. Until BC1, I had no interest in online shooters. But the idea that I could destroy the wall the enemy is using for cover....... awesome! No one is safe from my rage!
Nothing's wrong with that. BF games have been delivering the most complete multiplayer experience out of military shooters for a while now. In fact, that's what they're widely recognized for, the earlier games having no single player campaign and all.
I'm like you, btw. If I ever get around to giving the SP a try, it will probably be months after the game comes out. Assuming I have had my fix of Conquest (hahaha, right).
@Dacx By wearing reasonable body armor, then shooting their silly, silly faces, laughing all the while at the man who brought a knife to a gun fight? =P I keed, but you've gotta admit that stabbing a properly geared soldier in the back seems a mite ineffective. Go for the throat!
"This is actual gameplay footage... from the PC version. The console version will look like ass because we can't be bothered to actually work on it because if we do and make it look good we'll lose brownie points with our more preferential player base, PC gamers. Nyah."
@(Unverified) Give me at least 75 % of what I saw in those videos... and you'll have my 60 dollars worth. When did games all the sudden boil down to graphics anyway? I'll take polished solid game play over graphics any day.
DiCE has already confirmed in a recent video game magazine issue that the console port WILL HAVE REDUCED visual quality because the current gen systems (360/PS3) will be unable to fully utilize the Frostbite 2 engine.
If you want to see and have the full experience, get a PC.

I am surprised there are not more comments the game looks really good. I loved bad company 2 and i hope this one blows it away. Lets all try to forget the 1st bad company and its too long story levels.
It looks badass, but damn I'm disappointed at how it looks so much like BC2. Looks more like BC3 than BF3. The HUD is the exact same, and I hate how they showed Rush instead of Conquest.
This is a sequel to BF2, they should have shown Conquest, and made it feel more like BF2 than BC2.
This is miles ahead better than Battlefield 2 in terms of graphics and definitely parsecs ahead of anything that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 will dish out.
@McPo yeah Im kinda worried too.. Prone almost always leads to camping.. But then again, its near impossible to camp when I can just drop your building...
you know, with the new engine and all the destruction and stuff, i'm surprised they don't have a "sandbox mode" where you destroy as much stuff in any given amount of time and receive points as well as being able to take pictures of it.
Built on the cutting-edge Frostbite 2 technology, Battlefield 3 aspires to be DICE's best shooter and biggest launch yet. Expect improved graphics, louder explosions and more smithereens. So many smithereens.
