With Kinect Fun Labs already detailed by Major's Minute on Xbox Live, Microsoft offered some more details during its E3 2011 press conference. The mini-game collection will be freely available via the Kinect Hub and allows players to participate in various activities, including scanning objects into the game world and creating Avatars using the Kinect camera. The creations made in Kinect Fun Labs can then be shared online with friends.
Additionally, Microsoft's Kudo Tsunoda noted that more apps will be added to Kinect Fun Labs over time. Also, Major Nelson has tweeted that each app within Fun Labs will include their own Achievements. Finally, Kinect Fun Labs is available on Xbox Live ... right now. Go get it!

This is actually pretty neat. My avatar looks nothing like me but it was the closest I could get without spending hours trying to perfect it. I'm going to see what Kinect can come up with for me.

Kinect has not even warmed up yet... I can't wait to see how Kinect will be like in MS's next gen console...

The object scanning seems kinda cool. Too bad you couldn't use them as items for your avatar.

The scanning was so cool! The avatar one was slick, but scanning regular items is pretty rad. I know my niece would get a kick out of bring her toys to life in a way that she can't break =)

FunLabs, The only thing that looked even remotely new/interesting during the whole press conference. The only other thing they showed that is exclusive to Xbox360 that I'm interested in is GOW3.

I started up the box and got an update for Xbox Live that might somehow be related but maybe not as I don't play often. Anyways, I can't find the Fun Labs anywhere. Thanks for getting me all buttered up!

Is this US only? It's on the UK Live Marketplace but all you can do is rate it...

@bjb1990
I got it in the UK by following the link from Mouthsmasher above. FunLabs doesn't seem to appear anywhere though. The only way I could activate it was to click the download (again) on xbox.com and then hit the guide button when it plipped up "downloaded"!
It's obviously got some teething problems, but I thought the KinectMe was impressive. It scanned my Hoody logo!
