Only good thing was Halo: CE Anniversary and Halo 4 (Don't know how I feel about that yet)
Too much Kinect.
Too much Kinect.

Not for people that own a Kinect(like me and about 1/5 of all 360 owners worldwide). It was a great showing for Kinect.

@ItsameMatt03 I too own a Kinect, it just seemed overwhelming with it. Kinect here, Kinect there, Kinect Demo here and there, etc..

C'mon, Gears of War always looks great. Even a PS3 fan like me will readily admit that.

The funny thing is that the only two new Kinect games I'm interested in that they revealed are sequels to existing Kinect games: Kinect Sports and Dance Central.

The CE remake won't be full price according to an interview segment on gametrailers/spike after the conference.
Personally I'm very disappointed that the new trilogy had to be a Halo trilogy, would far prefer a new IP, what with Gears and ME coming to their current trilogy ends in the coming year.

They said it will most likely go for $40. Which isn't that bad. Basically paying the price of a 3DS game.

@Hi iTs SlayeR - I'm down on the Halos, but the Kinect support in Future Soldier, and all future TC games? The weapon customization looks absolutely amazing. The integration in the new Fable game looks shaky, but promising. Ryse looks very promising as well.

Double-post, sorry.
If MS didn't promote Kinect they would have been lambasted for not supporting a popular peripheral. I don't think the hardcore audience is being left out in the dark with Gears, Halo, Forza, MW etc.
MS does need to explore some new IPs though.

@Mr Esc is the namesarcasm is my - It was confirmed as a budget title on Spike TV. Whether budget means $40, or $50, I couldn't say.
This press conference was definitely a disappointment. I have a Kinect, and I'm excited for the tech demo channel, and the Mass Effect integration, but I don't want a fully Kinect Fable or other hardcore game.
I don't understand who they think is watching the E3 press conference. Kids? Moms? Does anyone in that consumer group even know E3 exists? There were such incredible demos for Skyrim and Arkham City right after the show on Spike, and I think Microsoft should have highlighted those games in the press conference instead.

I dunno man, the Kinect support for Minecraft, how they use it in the new Ghost Recon and how it's used in Mass Effect 3 were really exciting. Though they totally ruined the momentum they had with making Kinect seem like a worthwhile device by showing that awful arm flailing Disney game >.>

WAY too much Kinect, and mostly for solving problems that don't exist. Saying the names of menu items instead of picking them with buttons? Taking a picture of my face to paste on my avatar? How much value to these features actually add? $150 of value?
And I can't help but feel that most Kinect games are games that would've been considered low-tech, simplistic and just plain terrible even a decade ago, but are now innovative and exciting because they're played by spastic flailing instead of button presses. I hope everyone likes on-rail shooters, because it looks like we'll be playing lots of those.
The canned, pre-recorded demos (like that "oh so perfect" roll in birdie in Kinect Golf) also don't inspire much confidence if they can't even depend on Kinect to work reliably enough to show in real time.
Let's not forget Mass Effect, which uses state-of-the-art voice recognition to select menu options. This is only possible with Kinect, folks, definitely not the free microphone you got with your IBM Aptiva in 1995. I'm looking forward to when Kinect mistakes my saying "don't kill anyone" for "KILL EVERYONE."
This whole conference was embarrassingly out of touch. Microsoft is the Nintendo of 2007.

I said 1/5 of 360 owners. There are 55 million 360s out there, and Kinect has sold over 10 million units. Do the math.

i think your idea that hardcore gamers like the most cliche games is laughable...
i'd be pissed if all i had coming to my system was ANOTHER Gears, ANOTHER Halo, ANOTHER Forza and ANOTHER Call of Duty. Not even 1 new IP. Not even 1!!

I dunno, squad voice commands in two different games (Ghost Recon and Mass Effect) sort of blew me away. That is pretty tight right there.

just because a lot of Kinect units have moved doesn't mean that everybody wants to hear about Kinect over other things. I own a Kinect. Yes it's fun, but I would much rather hear about real games than Kinect games
It's just like the Wii. lots of people own them, but I know very few people between the ages of 8 and 50 who use their Wii on any type of a regular basis

I don't think Fable: The Journey counts as Fable 4... it's obviously just an on rails shooter and not a proper Fable sequel.

Great show for me. I can't really pick anything out that I didn't like the looks of, other than the UFC Fights on XBL, but that's only because I don't watch UFC.
My highlights were:
Halo CE remake
Halo 4
Ryse
Ghost Recon with Kinect
Live TV

Fable 4 doesn't count and this Bingo chart was so gimped. Seriously, Exclusive Rising? 3D Talk? Come on.
Also, I actually was fine with this conference.

And there was so much Kinect :|
I believe MS could benefit from another first party dev studio that focuses on more core games. Multiplat titles pick up the slack well, but in-house balance wouldn't hurt.

I wish I didn't see the leaks... took some of the fun out of it.
The Kinect hate is out of control. Gears, Forza, Halo remake all this fall. That's pretty good. Toss in MW:3 and plenty others to keep people happy.
