Battlefield 3 looks way better than any COD and this is coming from a COD fanboy.

I'm happy that its only BF1943 coming as the PS3 exclusive. I would've been miffed if they were given their own map or mode.

@McPo

I am playing and will continue playing BF 1943 after BF3 comes out - it's awesomely nostalgic to play BF 1943 with its updated graphics and destructible environments if you ever played BF 1942 on PC.

It's also just such a great setting (Wake Island just feels so fresh and breezy that I love playing on it).

Lucky I got Battlefield 1943 back in 2009 so I'm not missing out on anything.

@BaronVonSachsen My comment was in reference to owning both consoles & being able to enjoy what one console may get over the other & vice versa.

Exclusive dlc/content is so incredibly backwards. I understand exclusive games but content in multiplatform games is just punishing those that can't get it on their platform of choice. I personally don't mind this announcement as I have a ps3, but the whole idea seems rude in a sense to 360 owners.

I realize microsoft did the same thing but it doesn't make it any better.

@DV8ing1

As much as I hate it, at least Microsoft just does time exclusive DLC, other consoles can still get the DLC, just later.

@DV8ing1 agreed, it doesn't make much sense to me. if you happen to have two or more consoles, then you might get a game for that particular console, but chances are you have a preferred console, or you only have one console as most people do (not talking about most gamers on here though).

the only thing platform exclusive content does for the consumer who knows about it in the first place, is create hatred for the company who decided to implement it. granted, sony and microsoft are likely paying EA for exclusive content, so EA is making money while gamers are frustrated, but they should really take a hard line on exclusives, and just create DLC for both platforms to make up the monetary difference.

I hate this. I can get over timed exclusive dlc (I'm patient), but exclusive content for a single console in a multiplatform game is terribly frustrating. I personally would rather buy SSX on the 360 (as I have more friends who are used to the xbox platform, and this is a game I intend to buy mostly so I can play it with friends) but now I have to decide against missing out on content or missing out on playing with my friends online.

I'm just glad the Battlefield dlc is something I already have.

Was I the only one who felt that the BF1943 addition was more of a kick in the nuts to those who bought the game instead of a true bonus?

@Dextro - Not a kick in the nuts as much as a sort of lame pack in. I bought BF1943 when it came out, but even if I hadn't, why would I want to play it when I've got Battlefield 3 sitting right in front of me?

I know they had to do something to combat Microsoft and their bottomless (COD exclusive map purchasing) pockets, but giving out old games isn't that appealing, for BF or for Bioshock.

Well this is a nice incentive for BF3 but ... YOU HAVE FREAKING BF3 IN YOUR HANDS WHY WOULD YOU WASTE YOUR TIME ON 1943!!!!!!!

1943 was freaking awesome, and I love it tons, played the crap out of it for 2 years now but the second BF3 hits I'll probably never touch anything else again (including women).

for BF1943, im glad they got this along with BF3, i never got the chance to play it back in 2009....

Looking at BF3 right now, with all the maps and freebies, consider it "sold" to me.
