Soooo...where are the guys who were saying here that sony and their 3 captured "hackers" (which BTW we don´t really know if they are hackers and the ones who attacked sony or just scapegoats), were going to be a great example to stop hackers???......

Have those hackers gone to trial yet? Have they received a sentence yet? Did anyone truly believe that, even if an example was made out of them, every hacker around the world would suddenly stop hacking?

You make an example of people to stop some, not to stop all. There's usually no fool proof way to completely stop someone from doing something. "Where there's a will, there's a way."

WRONG the ones arrested where THREE GUYS who we don´t know if they are hackers, and we don´t know if they did the attack against sony. Everybody here celebrated like if Osama would´ve been killed again, but nobody really knows if those guys are really responsible for the whole "sonygate" or if they are nothing but scapegoats. And here we are again with another hacker attack.......

Its funny how Hollywood romanticized hackers as these digital rebels, outsiders, that was so strange that they were cool, they fought for digital justice and went toe to toe with "the man".

Hackers come in all styles. Some want to steal, some want to make a point, some do it for lulz, in the end some one or some individuals will pay the price.

While some looking at the situation may embrace the hackers saying they have a right to hack, that what they are doing is right, or they are trying to stand up. They could only embrace it so long until something they use or their credit information is compromised.

The main thing I fear is some silly government regulations put on the Internet or on our ISPs because of all this senseless bs. O well, as they say.. there's always a few people who ruin it for everyone. Hopefully some crazy regulation isn't the outcome, but as things are getting so out of hand, I'm sure it isn't that far fetched of an idea.

Cracker, hackers, etc.... are all the same to me. Get them all in jail and throw away the key.

Now, all we get is angry loners who want cyber domination from their mom's basement.
Cut off basement Internet and microwave burritos and you cut off their life line.

"righteous hack"

you're the exact kind off ass that praises them when they do something in your favor but when it affects you and the games you play suddenly it turns into

"Just stop."

Spurious. You just pulled that insult out of nowhere. Prove it.

You can look up my profile and all my back posts. When have I ever stuck my neck out for hackers? Let me save you the time, I haven't. Even in that post, I gave no credence to it being praiseworthy at any time in the past. And I don't even play Bethesda games! So both parts of your accusations are untrue.

There is a post though that proves you pointlessly start trouble with random people on the internet, spewing made up drivel. You just made it.

This makes the rage at Sony the past few months all the stupider. People singling out Sony for being horrible at everything from security to their relations to consumer, etc., seems all the sillier when completely innocent companies are getting hacked like it's going out of style.

When do we start seeing the "Serves Bethesda right for all the crap they did to hackers", "Epic had HORRIBLE and INEXCUSABLY BAD security because they got hacked" and "Codemasters took AN ETERNITY to inform me of this hack!!1!!!!Shift+1!!" catcalls? Oh right, we probably won't. When it happens to Sony it's because they're "evil" and "stupid", but when it happens to everyone else it's "unfortunate" and the work of those "damn hackers".

This is seriously just stupid. I've been tired a long time ago reading everyone and their mother getting hacked and now it's actually gotten to the point I'm frustrated. Getting your fame because you hacked a company isn't memorable. I'm sure there are by far easier ways of doing that while at the same time having people out there think you're actually a decent a person.

And the whole I'm showing them their system isn't secure so I'm actually helping them excuse is a load of BS.

God I can't believe this has become a trend. WE'RE SUCH REBELS GUYZ! *snort*
