Looks it's already been screwed up.
It might still turn out to be a decent standalone game but as Hitman sequel, it's pretty disappointing.

Hitman: Absolution will be "Better with Kinect", the player must remain completely quiet during play. If the Kinect unit picks up a noise above 8db the mission will fail. With Kinect for Xbox 360, YOU ARE THE ASSASSIN

But I have soo many more "Good" ideas for Kinect. Like... the game won't start up unless it detects a shaved head and scans the tattoo which you put on the back of your head. The tattoo stencil comes with a new copy of the game so it's like a EA online pass only disabling the game completely instead of just the online component

Did you watch the video? It's already screwed up. The "stealth" approach is more of that cover-based shooting nonsense, and requires you to apparently murder everyone in the room.

In other words, the exact opposite of Hitman.

@oOWallaceOo I hope that's not true. I have a Kinect, and I have 3 dogs. Who fart. Loud. All the time. I will never be a good assassin with them ASSassinating the air and soundwaves!

@oOWallaceOo I can seer many a pissed off room mate or sibling with that scenario-you trying to be very very quiet unknowingly not noticing them sneaking up behind you ready to turn some pots and pans into cymbals.

Maybe it's just a very very avant-garde trailer.

Seriously though, despite how rough the video looks it does look pretty cool!

Kinda a sucky preview. It only shows once and in a small way, the "instinct" ability. Besides that not much happened that was unique from blood money. Not saying blood money wasnt amazing, im just saying if im gonna see leaked gameplay i want to see the stuff that makes the game different.
Disapointed with the animations, how he picked up the sculpture and when he smashed it into the guys face. How it popped into his hand and how far his hand followed through when smashing it. But its not the final game so maybe that will be ironed out.

Looks Splinter Cell: Conviction-y.

Which I'm fine with, as long as they keep the openness and let you get through without HAVING to engage in combat. As much as I love the Hitman concept, I've always felt the execution to be awkward. Cover, hostage-taking, better camera, nice graphics -- this could potentially be precisely the sort of experience I've wanted from the series.

Going with the premise of what a "Hit man" does, i will assume that you won't have to engage in combat 99% of the time. Assassinations are meant to be undetected. I understand your point though.

@Icemael I would be very surprised if you couldn't "Silent Assassin" every mission with just your wire, killing no one but your target.

This is scary, it does look too much like Splinter Cell, whats with all the cops? Agent 47 isn't like Sam Fisher, where are the civilians, the city settings and disguises?

but yo gotta admit this doesnt really look like what youd expect from Hitman.

taking cover while under fire, hanging takedowns....

@WillPG1212 So what you think they won't have a silent assassin ranking that involves just the wire and your target? I would be extremely surprised if they didn't make that possible. It would be like mario not being able to jump.

@collinc

what i think?, is that they're making this Hitman alot easier, and more like other third person games out there, to appeal to a bigger audience.

now we havent seen anything that confirms that, but it doesn't stop me from being worried.

Conviction was a very nerfed down version of SplinterCell, and i hope Absolution doesnt do the same to the Hitman series.

@WillPG1212 I guess what I mean was that you could always run and gun through a lot of the hitman levels. So what I see is them making it more accessible to people who want to do that. But I don't see them making playing the game the way we did before impossible.

@iHavePants The first Kane and Lynch was a somewhat decent game. I didn't by any means love it, but I played it all the way through on co-op with my roommate and enjoyed the multiplayer. The second one though? I played it for less than an hour and that was too much. It was like every time you ran you were driving 200 mph.
