@Streeks1984,
Seriously, how can you not expect a massive downvote?

On a side note: This isn't just a straight up port, I'm sure you've noticed, and well, this isn't exactly your average game too... nothing wrong with re-releasing the classics for younger generations.

Yeah, I'd normally agree with the cries of "Nintendo's milking another franchise!" but I haven't played OoT in about 6 or 7 years now (and it's arguably one of the best games ever,) so I'm not complaining this time around.

Well this is only the second commercially available retail release of Ocarina of Time. Yes there is the Wii VC title, but I no longer had a Wii after the drought up to Smash Bros killed me. Other than that there was just the collection disc on GCN which isn't easy to get ahold of. Even including the VC and collection disc, this will be the fourth version in 13 years, which seems to be a way slower rate then Final Fantasy titles... FF1 is available on like iPad, iPhone, NES, PS1, Wonderswan, GBA, PSP, TI-83's, etc. Personally I haven't played it since 1998, so it will be a nice game to revisit.

It my opinion on the matter and yes their have been milking of many franchise titles for whatever misplaced reasons these publishers decided to give to the masses. I LOVE Ocarina of time (Majora's mask is way better in my opinion) But the fact remains clear what games are releasing for the 3DS that make want YOU to go out and buy this hand Held? Their isnt because they are trying to use nostalgia with old games to entice people to get these games....I want some new and creative games for the console...that is all is THAT too much to ask??

How many times are you going to re-relase this complaint? You see, this is why you get downvoted. Nintendo is releasing an amazing old game with updated visuals, graphics, and tweaks to the play. Give me this title now, please; this will make me want to buy the 3DS.
For the LOVE OF GOD why is this so difficult?

*Ahem*

It includes Zelda:OoT Master Quest, a game which was only available for preorders of the Wind Waker in a special disc that you might never in your life find nowdays. That alone makes this game worthy of your hard earned $39.99s.

Good day sir.

I see where this guy is coming from though. A lot of Nintendo die hards would readily bash the PSP for being a port device and then completely overlook any of the good new titles for the system. Some are even trying to say that about the PSVita already, even though the majority of titles announced so far are brand new games. The truth of the matter is that the 3DS is already slated for a few ports such as OoT, Starfox 64, and Snake Eater. Now I understand these are by no means normal ports (seeing as they all have improved visuals) but they're games that have already been released nonetheless. Nintendo knows that their core audience will eat up these fan service entries. Nostalgia sells. It's too bad since I'd much rather have a new IP after all of these years. Has knowing this stopped me from preordering OoT3D? No( HELLLL no actually). But the fact does still remain.

Normally I could agree with you, however this system's launch has been fully unacceptable. There are seriously 0 games for it (I already own Super Street Fighter 4 and rebought it so I could have something to play). And as good as OoT is, I don't feel it's worth $40 now a days. It is not worth the price of a new game. And seeing that the system's next game (RE: Mercenaries) isn't until the end of the month it's still very upsetting. Not to mention that first game is kind of a port of a mini-game from other full games. This new $250 system I bought has had no support for the 3 months that I've owned it and that's kind of upsetting, so I can see where Streeks1984 is coming from. Sure there are scattered new titles later in the year but currently you have an expensive handheld with no titles except rereleases and things that are refashioned to look better/take slight advantage of the new 3D screen... that is wholly unacceptable.

Dunno, watching the trailer on the 3DS with the 3D effect and toggling it back and forth, it's really hard to turn off the effect for me. It just feels so flat without it. To each their own though.

Probably. I had to turn off 3D on the eShop trailer for this game after about 20 seconds so I can't imagine playing with it on for 20 more hours.

No, because I love the 3D effect in my games. It's one of the things I anticipate on the 3DS, and judging by how good the 3D looks in this trailer, playing at full blast is going to be incredible.

In all fairness the 3D trailer offered either 3D on or off. There was no way to adjust the 3D to your preference. So maybe when you get the game you will be able to adjust the 3D to a level that suits you better.

The 3D effect simply doesn't work for me. My brain doesn't want to fall for the trick. It's rather frustrating, doesn't matter what distance it's just one giant headache.

And while I'm not in the majority, I'm also not in the minority.

Yes, you can turn off the 3D but I don't care. I still won't buy it because that was the appeal for me. Besides the Nintendo games. Maybe later at half the price.

That analog nub is sex on the beach, though. Loved it.

My eyes really hurt the first week, but I was really surprised on how much it didn't effect me after that. It reminded me of how sick I got the first week of playing Goldeneye on my new Nintendo 64. The 3DS is really awesome when you get over that hump.

For the record though, I don't really like it when people say "just turn off the 3D!" either. Its what makes the system, and its too bad some people just cant play it.

Has anybody noticed that Nintendo mimicked the same exact trailer they used for Ocarina of Time for the N64? This is the epic trailer that aired in movie theaters back in '98.. it was huge for that time. Pretty awesome dose of nostalgia here.

I wish that Nintendo got their attention on new software more than releasing new peripherals and reclicling old software.

But that´s just me, if I was a boss there, I would do the same thing.

The overwhelming mass of fanboys will buy old games rereleased and new peripherals without software based on hyper, so it´s a formulae of guaranteed sucess and the basis of theyr business.

Just so people know there is extra awesomesauce which you can possibly obtain when you pick up this game.

If you register the game on Club Nintendo you'll get sent the Games official soundtrack free of charge, it includes 50 tracks, an ochestrated melody and a note. Sounds like a deal to me people, note limited supplies and in europe you have until 30th to take advantage of the deal. Applies to NoA and NoE.
