Brad Pitt's latest includes a cameo from ... Bobby Kotick?

While you'd think the trailer for Brad Pitt's latest movie, Moneyball – being firmly ensconced in the underdog baseball archetype – would provide little in the way of surprises, a cameo at 0:58 threw quite the curveball!

... wait, is that Bobby Kotick? "We're not New York," Kotick's character, presumably a baseball franchise owner, tells Pitt. "Find players with the money we have." If you're wondering why Bobby Kotick is making an appearance as a rich white dude – admittedly, a well-cast appearance for the well-to-do CEO of Activision Blizzard – you're not alone. We reached out to Activision and a spokesperson confirmed that it was indeed Mr. Kotick and that he had been "asked to be in the movie."

We imagine it went something like this: "Who do I know that's really really really really rich?" Check out the trailer from Entertainment Tonight after the break.

This is anything but a junk movie. That Jabba the Hut costume is so convincing I expect this film to win an Oscar for Costume Design.

Actually, its well known fact that Kotick is the sinful spawn of a male Troll and Male gnome. Why both males? Its not a dig at homosexuality, rather a combination of the worst qualities of both made corporal in a way that should never happen and even work in nature, so as to prove just how much an abomination Kotick really is.

Injuries? He lost all of his pitching due to free agency and trades.

Kotick: "Listen, we'll charge people full price for a ticket into the stadium and then completely stop the game in the middle of the 6th inning. Then we'll charge everyone at the game $15 extra to experience the content of the remaining innings. If they don't pay, security will have to kick them out. If the game goes to extra innings, repeat the $15 charge every 3 innings for as long as it takes to finish the game. Stadium food and drink prices will be reasonable though... until the 3rd inning."

@TheBatman4141 It's based on a book based on the actual GM of the Oakland A's and what he actually did for the team. It isn't a "series" by any means.

Movie looks cool, but I got major douche chills sitting through that 48 seconds of pure waja those anchor types call banter.

Moneyball is a great baseball book. If you're a baseball fan, definitely read it.

Also, I doubt Kotick actually had to "act" in order to play a tight-walletted owner.

His theories have all come back down to earth. Basically, if you have great pitching, everything else takes care of itself.

He doesn't look so smart now without all of the starting pitching that made the whole "Moneyball" idea feasible.

I'm actually in this movie too. Was there for 3 days of filming in Oakland at the Colosseum.
