I love Stacked and Costume Quest but I didn't feel like I was a robber by not paying $60. I felt like I got a decent value for a game I bought.

Such a shame that it's Xbox exclusive.

I liked both Costume Quest and Stacked, and I'm certain I would've loved this one!

Yeah, why is it exclusive? Their other two titles were released simultaneously on PSN. I would have preferred to get this on PS3.

Well, I saw that it was published by Microsoft Studios, but I wonder why DF would want to limit their audience.

@wcarnation depends on the developer. some will use a partnership to make better games some will become lazy.

last gen getting into bed with MS didnt really work out for Double Fine. This gen you could argue coding for two boxes has wasted time for a small developer and minor sales followed as is the case with Brutal Legend.

They seem to have found a stride lately (finally) and may want to concentrate developing for the box with higher online sales. Or they are simply closer to the Redmond offices and get free sandwiches.

Psychonauts was originally to be an Xbox exclusive published by Microsoft. it was only after MS walked away from the game that Majesco got involved and it became a multiplatform title.

Schafer has talked about how they shopped around all these downloadable titles to a variety of publishers at the same time, and ended up partnering with multiple publishers based on who was most interested in each game. It could be as simple as Microsoft Game Studios was more interested in publishing this than any of the third party publishers or Sony.

just get both consoles already man...if i can afford it, i know you can too. and you'll easily be able to find the great exclusives the 360 has to offer on the super cheap now...the first mass effect, fable, halo, gears, forza, etc. etc. all are worthwhile, not to mention that xbla has a larger library of good games than the psn, with trenched just being another to add to that expanding list. oh, and limbo, you NEED to experience that game.

I haven't really got the money for it right now (was a while since I could afford a full-price retail title for my PS3 :/) but I have been considering it lately. Mostly because of Forza, some XBLA exclusives and the indie channel.

Still, I dislike exclusives - no matter what platform they're exclusive to.

i agree about the exclusives, but there are lots of gamers out there who swear by them, thinking that the worth of a console is measured by the amount of quality exclusives it has. i think that's crap, of course, as more often than not the best games are multiplatform. there are a few instances, such as halo: reach or uncharted 2, where a game truly takes advantage of the hardware that it is presented on to the fullest extent, but most of the time i think exclusives are just selling points for childish fanboys.

In the last paragraph;
"My only wish is for more missions, parts and weapons"

Are you just saying they would be good as DLC or there really aren't very many to choose from? Sounds like a lot of fun regardless.

@(Unverified) Yeah I guess, and I wouldn't be surprised if they added more than one DLC since this is multiplayer (wouldn't be disappointed if they didn't either since this is their new business model).

What I meant was, does the game just give you some weapons after each mission then stop or is there reason to keep playing till you get the random drop of the weapon you want.

So does this come out this week then? I had missed the release date on it and don't see it mentioned in the sidebar or in the review.

I have purchased every single game Double Fine has released, and I don't see that trend stopping. Can't wait!

I was actually pretty plussed when I heard the announcement.

Seriously, you guys are supposed to be journalists, so you should have higher writing standards. Nonplussed is a single word (no hyphen, ever, even when used incorrectly) that means bewildered or perplexed. Common vernacular may have started to misuse it (for the exact opposite of what it actually means), but as journalists you shouldn't be throwing around "big" words if you don't know how to use them.

The only thing worse than being pedantic is being pedantic and wrong about it.

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/nonplussed

You could maybe justify the sentence as saying you were perplexed by the boringness of the announcement, but that hyphen indicate you just don't know how to use it.

The only thing worse than a journalist using a word wrong or misspelling it is some wise-ass commenter who has to show off his literacy skills.

Who cares? Do you even think Randy reads all these comments?

The next time you find an error in a text: send an e-mail to the author. Don't go waving your finger in the comments section. Noone is interested in reading comments like that.

Its got a bit of Lag online at the mo but i am sure they'll patch soon. Brilliant game, the review is completely correct! Anything to buffer the summer! I still don't understand why no one is releasing much over the next 3 months!
Apart from F3AR 3 (anyone know if its good?) there's nothing, i'd buy Bear Grylls MAN VS WILD 2 right about now!
