Also it doesn't surprise me that the intellect and reading comprehension of a 12 year old goes with the attitude of one. Notice I said your statement was dumb because the KZ3 has a great amount of people playing it online right now. It had nothing to do with whatever perceived quality of game you randomly inserted.

@DigitalEmporer No, the point is the Street Fighter, MK, Tekken etc. communities could desperately use representation and more importantly financial backing like this from bigger sponsors than they get currently.

You could revive entire scenes with tournaments offering this much cash, seeing as I don't even think EVO has this much money behind it, which is ridiculous.

So, yes, gaming can be a sport. It's not the same as physical sports like football or baseball, but it's still technically "an active pastime" that is often of a competitive nature.

MLG used to have to huge pots for the winners of fighting games. I think they got rid of fighting games at their tournament because they say not enough people play them compared to the thousands of entrants they get for shooters.
