Feels bad man. Seemed like this could have worked okay. I just need to pretend the 3DS isn't out till the next revision, then there will be a bunch of great games. Plus, plane tickets and a new iMac are expensive... :(

And I was voted down for what reason? Having to pay bills and not able to buy every gadget that comes out? Or maybe because a game that looked interesting got a poor score by a reviewer I trust? Oh maybe it was you self-righteous pricks that vote down anything involving Apple.

Why on earth do I come here anymore? Everyone who had any sense and could have a discussion about video games is long gone.

It's quality hardware, and it is expensive, I never asked for one but my parents got me a Macbook a long time ago and it turned out that I loved it. I really enjoy how easy and intuitive OSX is to use. I'm sorry I enjoy having nice things that I use my hard-earned money to pay for.

Some of you buy gaming PCs. Some of you buy shiny gadgets. Some of you buy multiple games a month. I buy a computer (first time in 6 years) that I don't have to babysit. I have to do enough of that with my friends and family.

I don't think preferring an operating system over another makes me insecure. But obviously you're an expert in the field. I never said I was any better or wiser than anyone else. But I do think it's silly that another person finds themselves superior because in their own little world they think Apple is the Devil and everyone who has ever touched one is a tool.

Unfunny person with no real argument and/or are not intelligent enough to come up with one says what?

You just called somebody a bigot, told him to die in a fire, got worked up about being downvoted, and also proceeded to detail your love affair with Mac products before of the latter point.

Chill out.

Also, I have both a Macbook and PC and use both regularly. If you really feel like that much like a "victim", go to a new blog so you can idealize with other people who share your viewpoint.

@D3m0sthenes "I buy a computer (first time in 6 years) that I don't have to babysit. I have to do enough of that with my friends and family. " I downvoted all your comments just for this. Only people that foolishly click on every single [and mostly obvious] spyware/scam links have any issues with PCs. That, and people who pirate things a lot [and aren't smart about where they pirate from]. It's just a fact that Macs ARE overprice PCs. Same specs as a PC less than half the price, yet can do technically less things. I agree they have use, but that use is for people who are too lazy to learn BASIC PC security and people who are a combination of rich and lazy. I havn't had an issue with a PC since I was 1, except for hardware issues or bad drivers...both of which happen on Macs as well, except I don't have to buy a whole new Mac or pay insane amounts of cash just for a minor fix [or when it's a free repair..it still takes them an insane amount of time for something so simple. In short, Macs are useless except for their software [which they purposely make SUCK on Windows to convince fools to buy Macs] or for people who are ignorant of basic technology.

I didn't want this to turn into an OSX vs Windows debate, I know what I prefer, you know what you prefer. OSX is less of a headache for me, drivers, antivirus, etc. I understand if you're not a moron it's not that big of a deal, like I said, my first and only Mac was bought for me, I had never used a Mac before, now I love it. Sue me.

And yes, if you do look up the word bigot, I used it perfectly in context and that is exactly what most Apple haters are, (and a lot of Apple fans no doubt) they think they're smarter than the "masses" because they use an OS that 90% of the world uses. They're bigots and hypocrites.

And the die in a fire comment was a homage to the olden days of Joystiq, specifically from the Joystiq Podcast.

This forum is used to discuss video games, that's what I was trying to do, then morons like you don't like a word in a post and down vote it even all logic is sound. I even tried to explain my "offensive views" like a normal human being. I should have known better than to try to reason with most of you.

In all logic and reason (none of which you seem to have) you're the one who needs to chill out.

Uhh.. quality hardware.. Just like a PC.

Your common Mac Pro comes equipped with...
Intel processor.
ATI Radeon.
SSDD.

Why do mac fanboys always believe that this standard PC hardware is exclusive to Apple's platform in some way and that it somehow attains a higher quality just because it lives in a chassis manufactured by Apple?

If you want an honest answer, I believe the hardware is better utilized and optimized because the fragmentation is much less than a PC. Same reason drivers and all that nonsense are not needed. It's a huge plus for someone who doesn't want to deal with that. But it's also a huge minus for anyone who wants the most, and latest and greatest.

It's similar between IOS devices and Android, IOS devices are usually underpowered compared to Android devices, but almost always perform as well on benchmarks. It's that closed environment that Apple excels in. Just about every app from Apple's app store works perfectly on every IOS product because they are limited to the few devices out at the time. With Android you see more fragmentation because of all the different manufacturers and hardware combinations. This gives a huge plus to flexibility and sheer openness of the marketplace. Which is what I personally look for in a device. It's like my swiss army knife of gadgets.

I hope that makes a little sense.

I don't think that just because it's Apple it's flawless, or really any different from any PC, which it isn't. I'm just stating some possible advantages in their methods, which also have their disadvantages.

Honestly for me it comes down to the OS preference. And willingness to pay the premium.

I can agree to disagree with OSX vs Windows.

But I'm totally with you on IOS. No flash... really Apple? Android does just fine with it, I doubt iTunes would take that much of a hit in sales if a few people played an Angry Birds flash rip off

@Jawmuncher Nah, I'm a huge a fan of RE and I spent a lot of time playing the mercenaries for both RE4 & 5 and I have to say that I wasn't interested at all in this "game".
I mean they're basically copy pasting the two bonus games from the last 2 RE ! They're not adding anything meaningful to make this feel like a complete new game and they could've done that by adding more characters, weapons & stages instead of reusing the same ones.

It's called "The Mercenaries" for a reason. The reason is because it's a compilation of all the Mercenaries content and more. For you just saying it's "Copy and Paste" is pretty lame. Since it is a different platform and different hardware it takes more work than just Copying and pasting.

I also enjoyed not only SF, but Pilotwings as well. Then again, I am a fan of the series.

I'm so tired of seeing the word "repetitive" in video game reviews. ITS ALL REPETITIVE. FPS? Shoot, flip switch, repeat. Survival Horror? Shoot, run, flip switch, solve puzzle, repeat. Hell, Even Mario games for the most part are get coins, get stars, fight baddies, repeat.

Point being, it's all repetitive. It's just a matter of the individual gamer on how repetitive repetitive really is.

If these reviews are to continue, might one ask for say, an alternative review? Another set of hands and eyes on the game? *Something* that doesn't scream at me "you couldn't play this well, so you gave it a bad review". I felt when I hit the point that said " In Mercenaries, they represent an almost certain interruption of your combo multiplier, or a calculated drain on your precious time and ammunition. That's not terror -- that's accounting." it was basically a 4 year olds whine when they can't beat a boss, or progress past a certain point. Get over it, and practice.

@JohnnyTwatFist : To each his own I guess, but the 3D effect for 3DS games I have played don't really add anything special to the gameplay. I haven't played OOT but I'm sure it looks great, and other 3DS games made from the ground up on 3DS hardware look impressive. But most of these games aren't out yet. StarFox, Super Mario 3DS, Kid Icarus, etc.

When these games plus 3D movies start becoming available then I'll get a little excited. As for right now, there isn't anything on the 3DS that makes feel I must have one, especially when most of these games I already own on other systems. But that's just me.

@JohnnyTwatFist That's why you don't necessarily go by reviews all the time. I have a much higher tolerance for "repetitive gameplay" than most reviewers, so when that complaint arises without much support as to WHY it's repetitive, I just ignore that. If it's pointed out to be repetitive because of certain annoying factors, that's a whole 'nother story.

I don't know perhaps...

More character customization? One extra skin? Really?
More fluid frame rate and animations?
Not a locked "one save only" implemented?
A reasonable price tag for such a short game?

Just to name a few.

My main gripe is that the game gets tiring once you beat all the missions. Only thing that might keep me interested is getting skills to customize my characters, but through doing the same missions over and over. I'll hold on to the game for a while though. One of the very good looking 3DS games so far.
