Yesterday we reported that Limbo may be PSN-bound, if a Korean Game Ratings Board listing sought by Sony Computer Entertainment Korea is any indication. We reached out to developer Playdead for comment and CEO and co-founder Dino Patti got back to us today confirming the news.
"This might be the second time around we have been waiting for," Patti said, referencing his quote from last May in which he said, "You won't see a PS3 or PC version this time around." Patti said that "Limbo is in production for Steam and PSN, and is coming very soon." With a release date of "very soon" he predictably said more details would be coming shortly.
The small Playdead team is handling both ports itself, while also working on a new IP. "To be honest, we want as many people to play our games as possible," Patti told us last year at the Indiecade festival. "If we end up going exclusive, we may do it for various reasons, but we just want as many people to play the game as possible." Even after a period of exclusivity, there are a lot more gamers who are going to be able to play Limbo "very soon."

i didn't
way to overrated in my opinion. the novelty of the art style wears off pretty fast and gameplay wise it's really flat

It'll be $15 which is a tad lame.
Good news though.

It's great, but I'll allow that it's worth *most* of the pennies. I loved it, but I think $10 is a better price point.

It looks to be and I don't doubt it, I'm just tired of year late, full price ports. We had to wait, cut us some slack!
And I will admit some sort of disconnect when spending over $10 digitally.

The only reason to get exclusive is if they give you a $hitload of money, and even with that i don´t think you´ll get more with an exclusive agreement than what you´ll made if you let your game go to all the major platforms ( p.c. xbox, ps3, Wii). really that exclusive thing is no longer forcing anybody to buy a console just for one game, and developers should try to get as much money as possible from a game.

@Hunter141072 development cost are not free. not all developers have enough money or human resources to code multiplatform.

@Hunter141072 Not only a shitload of money, but also publicity.
Playdead could not be as successfully if it aimed for all consoles.
Being part of Summer of Arcade is a hell of an advertising.
Exclusivity deals have some great pros, especially for a small developing studio. It also mean you will get a pretty good investment. And, lets face it, making games cost money.

I love puzzle platformers but hate pretentious games. I wish the gaming press and enthusiast gamers didn't dismiss games that have a fun style as kiddie. People would pay attention to games like Funky Lab Rat if it was dark and had some pretentious message like this or Braid.

@FriedConsole this game wasn't pretentious when just taken as a game to play game bloggers/reviewers made it that way.
its easy to enjoy without reading one paragraph on it.

i've really never understood why people flip-flop from one console to another. seems like such a waste of money....why not just keep both? you know there will be something else down the road that you'll want to play.

I'm in the same boat as you sir. I'm not saying the game is bad or worthless, I just think $10 would be bette and more fitting.
I hate how people get downvoted for casually saying an opinion.
