It's time to strip down your bunks, throw your macaroni necklaces in a suitcase and get back to town -- it's the final day of the Steam Summer Camp Sale. Today Steam is featuring some of the sale's biggest titles (which means you probably already have them), including franchise deals on Fallout, Battlefield, Borderlands, Just Cause and Assassin's Creed.
One game you may not have bought yet, Terraria, is also 50 percent off today. If there's a better way of forming one last Summer Camp memory than a 2D, Minecraft-inspired sidescrolling goldmine of fun, we can't think of it.

Too bad you missed Terraria at $2.50 yesterday. I was able to grab it, but I can't get it to install with how hard Steam has been getting hit. Oh well, back to Minecraft proper and the Uncharted beta.

I just wish they had new games here! But anyways, it is still a good day with Portal 2. I was thinking about buying it yesterday and when I got a second chance to get it today, I could not just let it slip by.

@Peril Bad sales? Its a recap of EVERY sale that happened over the past week. I mean the Assassins Creed pack is now 27$ instead of the 30$ it was on the 2nd day.

The prices for New Vegas and Dawn of War 2: retribution are to expensive for my Australian budget, $30 each while in the US get them for around $15. I have extra copies of the half life+expansions and HL2+eps and the left 4 dead games if anyone is willing to trade?

I don't remember, but I think I read something where they were restricting the gifting across regions because publishers were pissed at people buying a game at like $10 US, and gifting it to people where it sold for like $70 US.

You can read some letters the little Steam characters wrote home here: http://steamcommunity.com/games/summercamp/GameArt
It's actually kinda funny. The letters correspond with the picture they had for the day. It only takes about 10 minutes to read it all. I just saw them today and thought I'd share :)

It's also kind of funny Cyl, the "hardcore gamer" persona, was crying and wanting to call his mom after a scary story by Isaac.

Terraia is really great. Dare say it's better than Minecraft? Probably not for creating, but for exploration it has minecraft beat for the moment.

Absolutely! For those who don't know, Just Cause 2 is 'Blowing Sh*t Up: The Game'. In fact, the official soundtrack is called 'Music To Blow S**T Up By'.
Just an example: I surfed on top of an jet fighter, while dragging an enemy behind the tail, crashing it in a field filled with massive gas tanks.
Yes, it really is that awesome.

Over the course of the sale I picked up Magicka and VVVVVV. Unfortunately my laptop is too meek to run Magicka so I'll have to wait until I finish my custom PC to play it.
I'm starting to understand why PC gamers affectionately call their machines "rigs." There's an awful lot of decision making that goes into a build!

Yeap. And a lot of stress. PC gamers are elitists, but it's not totally undeserved. And we always welcome new members- just look at Tom's Forums.

Ehh. wasn't a huge fan of this sale. Nothing really jumped out at me as being a good deal. The good titles were off by a miniscule amount, and the good sales were for random games that didn't warrant a second glance. There were 2 or 3 that caught my attention(grabbed retribution, universe sandbox, and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA), but the rest was just kinda meh

Where are the people complaing that they missed out on deals because they waited till the last minute when the servers crashed.

@MJR I'll complain! I forgot my Steam password and couldn't get in at all from the servers being hit.:P Tried to reset my password for 2 hours (forgot it), and ended up guessing my way into my own account. Then I got games and all was well.

Honestly, I'm glad it's over. I've spent over $550 over the sale. I don't have much more to spend...
As a side note, guess who got none of it? That's right: EA. They want to pull their crap and not support what IS there? **** 'em. There's plenty of other, better stuff out there.

Thank the Gods it's over. Any more of this and my bank account would have suffered permanent trauma. It'll take a few weeks for it to recover from the shell-shock as it is.
But seriously, some excellent deals these last few days. I'm especially pleased with my purchase of Back to the Future. Great Scott, that game knows how to tell a story!

I ended up with 17 games and some other various DLC for under $50. I was on at 1pm almost every day, so I was able to get Terraria for $2.50 and DoW2:Retribution for $7.50, and took advantage of 4 pack pricing on a lot.
Here's my final haul:
