Definitely Arkham is becoming the Metal Gear of the heroes games...... if only more heroes games were trying to follow.

The Ridder has always been one of my favorite batman villains, second only to Scarecrow.
Loved Arkham Asylum. Cannot wait for this.

@Quayle
It's expected that he had a team of extremely talented construction workers build these things for him, that, I can accept (somehow). And I understand that he is very smart, but designing giant sections of spinning blades? iduno, it just doesn't fit with the Riddler from the first one.
Maybe it's just one section, but they seemed to dominate this video. I would hope the riddler would pose a mental challenge as opposed to platforming around the "spinning blades of hades"

Especially the part where it says " He is shown to be skilled with engineering and technology, confronting Batman and Robin with unique and elaborate deathtraps.".

For people not that into Batman outside of the games (although I've never been super into comic books but still) The Riddler is a genius level sociopath with a penchant for ANYTHING puzzling including giant spinning death blades at the bottom of a pit if you fail his game. Also, this is a Superhero universe, are you really going to complain about impossible/unlikely things?

I'm worried that there will be too many villains in major roles, but that fear is possibly just because it rarely works when they do it in movies. Games don't flow in the same way so it may not matter how many the shove in. Just as long as each part is fleshed out properly, which it looks like they are doing.
I hope the reason they made a Robin model and moveset is because he gets killed right at the start.

It looks like they're adding a little bit of Jigsaw (Saw movies) to the Riddler's personality and traps. I approve.

@bamb0ostick I don't think that resembling a Saw movie is a good thing. Not at all. I personally think that Saw was one of the worst movie franchises ever. Glad they are done.

@archipelagos HA, they aren't done. I promise you there will be one coming out this Halloween. Same with the crappy final destination movies.

@archipelagos Well I haven't watched the Saw movies since the first one, which had some likeable qualities in the villain and the "challenges" created by him. Since then I haven't followed it, so I didn't mean to portray Rocksteady's Riddler in a bad way. They both have a guilty enjoyable sadism to their characters which I like. Anything they do to a character is good in my opinion.

Melting of two great ideas, Formulas that represents the genius of the Riddler and the visual distortion that speaks to his insanity. excellent touch Rocksteady, I eagerly await to be tested by the Emerald Questionnaire.

Whoa, evil genius and all such stuff notwithstanding... it is certainly evident from Riddler's need to prove himself smarter, that he is suffering from some major inadequacy issues. Why else go through all this trouble?
And why not just invent a trap that didn't actually have a solution? Does he have too much honor? He clearly isn't interested in killing Batman outright, but that would be the result if Batman happened to fail one of Riddler's puzzles. Then, he would have nobody to play with. He acts like he's upset when Batman solves a new puzzle, but really he's smiling inside like a proud teacher...

@JonahStein The point of building the trap is to prove that he can build something that Batman can't figure out. If there was no solution, then it wouldn't be a game or a challenge it would just be killing him.
"The Riddler's criminal modus operandi is so deeply ingrained into his personality that he is virtually powerless to stop himself from acting it out (as shown in his third comic book appearance). He cannot simply kill his opponents when he has the upper hand; he has to put them in a deathtrap to see if he can devise a life and death intellectual challenge that the hero cannot solve and escape."

I've been getting used to studios wasting IPs to the point that I have a mini seizure when I see anything about Arkham City and Rocksteady's use of the world/character.
Other studios take note. Instead of tailoring a game to coincide with a movie, just make the game you want to make. Rushed movies games kill kittens wrapped in warm blankets.
