I was excited the other day when I saw the achievement - anyone remember the awesome names for Super Mario World's star road, like BOGUS, MONDO, and TUBULAR? Valspeak>>>

@Magnalon I actually just played through Super Mario World (all 96 exits) a few weeks ago. It sucks that they never made a legitimate sequel (Yoshi's Island absolutely, positively does not count - it's a great game in its own right, but it's not a Mario game). Hopefully we'll see a New Super Mario World for DS or Wii someday.

@Magnalon:

Haha, yes! Those levels were awesome! And were definitely much harder than the rest of the game. I always had to go back to the Top Secret Area to stock up on feathers and get Yoshi

LOL, agreed. I was expecting something a little more tongue-in-cheek.

Subtly clearly isn't a concept they're familiar with. Dues for coming right out and saying it, though.

@Cleric

For the record, to those of us unfamiliar with names of Comic Jumper characters, your post comes off like you're asking if the Star Road in the video is from Comic Jumper. Hence that first reaction (aside from how he went about it).

Capcom has been on a roll of disappointment recently. I'm kicking myself for buying Dead Rising 2 at full price. That would have been the laziest sequel ever if they hadn't decided to make an even laziest one with Off The Record. Then there was the RE:3DS save fiasco.

Seriously has Capcom done anything decent lately? Maybe it's time to add them to my "do not buy" list.

There is not nor has there ever been a lazier sequel than Crackdown 2.

I can beat that. Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey '99.

Take the previous game, update the roster for the new year, add "99" on the title. Rerelease it as a new game.

It wasn't by Capcom, but that's exactly what they did.

@Drakkenfyre Sports games are exempt from that category or they would sweep the nominations every year.

I actually enjoyed the previous one quite a bit back in the day. Of course, it's not like we had that many options in the N64 library.

yeah no doubt. so many fans, including myself, were hoping that wasn't going to be the case, but the more we saw of the game the more it became obvious that Crackdown 2 was just Crackdown 1 with zombies. they hardly even changed the city... :( since that sequel was so lazy and not very well received, i take it that Microsoft is going to decide not to revisit the franchise ever again. shame.

@SpacePenguinBot I thought DR2 was terrific. Far, Far better than the original. THey polished it up, the weapon combos were a great addition. Nothing lazy about it. But yeah, the new DR2 spinoff... that looks unnecessary...

@vidjagamer But if they put a description of the video in the post you wouldn't watch it and then that ad in front of the vid would go to waste

Ah yes, more "hilarious" twisted pixel humor. Loved the first 'Splosion Man, and the donut song was cute, but I'll never understand why their humor is held in such high regard. I hope to god Star isn't a prominent voice in MSM. If he is, I'm muting the audio.

@(Unverified) No kidding. The humor and writing in an average TP game (lets throw in art direction while we're at it) actually make me want to avoid playing their games. I'm not sure that's the desired effect.

Best jab I can think of is the year end sales figures when comparing this game to RE: Mercenaries.

I know, I know. Two different platforms and two different genres. But I can restart one without having to dunk the system a vat of oil.

That is one of the lamest "digs" I've heard in a long time. Did it take them a whole 30 seconds to come up with that clever and subtle satire? If I'd never heard of this MaXplosion (and I hadn't before reading the explanation of the gag in the article) I'd be left confused as to why they'd randomly insulted Capcom while parodying a Nintendo game...

I still swear up and down that when you cut off the bottom section of that picture, it reminds me of the interrogation scene from Basic Instinct..

That smoke doesn't look like it's coming from the ground, if you catch my drift...
