If it does I reckon you guys will get in in a different form as the bonuses in our SE are the same as your Gamestop preorder bonuses.

At least, that seems to be the date a few gaming sites are using. Wiki still has "Late 2011" so I don't know.

Someone hasn't played the demo.

i did play it. It had issues.

I'm skeptical until the final product emerges. The demo having a suicide feature and the price listing at 49.99 instead of the standard price just don't sit well with me.

@Mach2 Yeah, that amazing one-level demo.

You mean you didn't play the demo?

The demo was awful. On my high end TV equipment it looked and played horribly to the point I had to stop playing because it wasn't smooth in either 2D or 3D. Yet it was much more playable on my smaller 25" bravia in the kitchen.

I liked the look of the game, it was very nostalgic and all but I don't think SEGA gets it. The demo once and for all proved that 3D models and backdrop just will never work on 2D games of that speed. Not only does it look worse but the need for things like motion blur (which is so heavily used in the demo not even the quickest eyes could stay 100% focused on movement) really hinder play-ability.

I just don't understand why it is so hard to make high-res 2D sprites with plenty of frames of animation and a 2D background. There is so much potential for a gorgeous 2D side-scroller but no one wants to do any damn work, it is much easier to just tease a 3D model to perfection than actually animate frame-by-frame I suppose.

I'm with you, specially when you talk about everything getting blurred. For a moment there I was worried that I'm getting too old to follow what's on-screen, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Yeah, I stare at games all day from sports to shooters to rpgs at work and usually motion blur doesn't phase me a bit, nor does variations in refresh rate but the liberal use of it in Sonic Generations really got to me. I would atleast hope there is an option to turn it off, but such over-use of motion blur is usually to hide something... that or they have no testers to provide tuning feedback...

And the 3-4 levels of background is a bit disorienting too, sure it is a cool effect since it is literally 3-4 slides moving at different speeds but when you're trying to focus on Sonic it makes things difficult - for me atleast. Hopefully that isn't age catching up with me.

I don't get it, am I the only person who didn't have any problems with the demo at all? Didn't stutter for me at all and I thought it played pretty well, tons better than Sonic 4.

I get it. This is the internet, and it's a Sonic game. That's a recipe for complainan'. A few months ago and I'd have been complaining too, probably harder than the rest of y'all since it's all I ever do. But this game really, honest to god doesn't seem like it's gonna be all that bad.

I've played through the demo 3 times. While it seemed that Sonic was wearing some kind of anti-gravity boots and I lost track of just about everything on screen running at high speeds, it's still better than Sonic 4. Scrap modern Sonic and we might have a... I dunno, a 7/10 game. In about more 3 iterations, we might actually have a great Sonic game.

Or that's just me being optimistic

@Da Largest It definitely feels a lot more like what Sonic 4 should have.. but it's hard to judge from one level, these developers tend to be good at creating the green hill (opening levels) but then the level design quickly falls apart after that.

Another half of the game is also comprised of modern Sonic sections.. you know those on-rails speed sections that have been the biggest problem with the games for the past few years?

I hate to bring up the Sonic cycle again.. but it keeps being proven true for some reason.

I kinda wish us PS3 users would get a special dynamic theme and even some avatars to make it equivalent to the 360 release.

Heck, I would love to have a big obnoxious Super Sonic outfit in Home.

The 3D sections in Unleashed and Colors have been nearly universally praised so i have no idea what you're talking about there.
