BloodRayne: Betrayal launching in the last week of August
14
Time is fluid, as we're reminded again by the announcement of Bloodrayne: Betrayal's late August launch. Originally expected for "early August," the game now has August 30 and 31 launch dates for PSN and XBLA, respectively.
Developer WayForward has reimagined BloodRayne for the better, as we and the company recently detailed on The Joystiq Show. From what we've seen so far, this is a BloodRayne that doesn't suck.

Christ, the number of dudes in that purple outfit reminds me of the ninjas Ryu Hayabusa kills over and over again. Where do that get THAT many outfits?

woop woop woop WayForward
A Boy and His Blob and Contra were great so I'm sure that this will be too seeing it's another 2d game.

is it really called "Betrayal", like the 2D God of War game.
The developer are aware of it right?

Hey, Bloodrayne 2 didn't suck. Bloodrayne one, yeah, but the second one was rather entertaining.

They weren't 'bad' games...its just that their overall design was a bit late to the party.
I finished them both and didn't hate them...just felt that had these come out in N64 or PSX era... they would have been much more appreciated.

I have to agree, definitely preferred the first. Not sure what the hate is about where these games are concerned, I enjoyed both of them quite a lot and thought the animation in the first one was some of the most fluid of that type.
As for this new, supposedly "not sucking" version, looks like massive suck to me -- of an unfun variety. Unless the screens just seriously don't do the game justice, and I'll grant that's at least possible, I think I'd rather go dig out my old Blood Rayne disks and have some actual fun -- sucking and all -- instead.

I didn't know that, apparently, that people didn't like the BloodRayne games. I love them, and went batshit crazy when I heard about this game. The live trailers make it look fun, and I've been hoping for this franchise to come back. Not exactly what I had in mind, but I'll take it!
I hope it sells well. Then there might be BloodRayne 2.
