I'd enjoy an HD collection of these games. I'd prefer a rerelease over that blasphemous DMC reboot. Looks like I will also bust out my watercolors

@liquidsoap89 - It's not a remake. It's another origin story-based game about Dante prior to DMC3, where we see how he becomes the hunter he is in later games.

@Nintendo Tim It's too bad that Dante's origin was already told in the Devil May Cry novel. Ninja Theory's game seems to just be a huge lie. They act like they can just ignore everything that already happened.

You can debate whether you like it all you want, it's certainly got some things I'm not a fan of from a design standpoint.

But the old one was even goofier and uglier.

I like the colouring book idea. It works for each title in the series...
DMC1 - "Dante likes eating pizza! Colour in his pizza toppings!"
DMC2 - "Gamers are upset with DMC2! Colour the gamer's face red!"
DMC3 - "What colour is the pole that the Succubus is dancing on?"
DMC4 - "Colour in a plot for Nero!" // For PS3 Users: "Colour the loading bar progress while eating a full course meal!"

The contest itself is exciting though. I didn't make it to the CAPCOM or MEGAMAN anniversary artbooks, so hopefully the third time is the charm. Just like DEVIL MAY CRY, ha!

Who knows, maybe they secretly kicked Ninja Theory out to the curb after they Ninja'd that one specific developer into the game to be Dante? Which also means they'll dump the "10-pack a day" gravel voice this "younger" Dante has too!

@DevilSei Capcom only makes bad moves these days. Therefore, Ninja Theory is still making DMC. The next Street Fighter has been given to Zynga.

Fine, but only if they fire Ninja Theory and hire the winning fanartist to make the new DMC game instead.

Even an amateur could design a better Dante than the person presented as the alleged 'Dante' of 'DmC'. Looks like a meth addict.

Ignorant people have no idea how much skill goes into character design. Yea, it doesn't look like the cliche boring japanese Dante, but as a character design it's very well done.

I'm sorry to tell you, but the Ninja Theory character designers are awesome. It's Capcoms shitty direction that you should be complaining about. Not NT's talent.

Anything Ninja Theory makes > DMC4.

I'm glad Capcom aren't on board as developers, or else they'd cut a ton of content for DLC and give us one permanent save file.

Unlike the Star Trek movies, all the even-numbered DMC games seem to shit the bed. Horribly.

DMC4 wasn't quite as bad as DMC2, but it was still criminally underwhelming. From where I'm standing, Bayonetta is the current-gen king (or queen?) of wacky Japanese 3-D hyper-action brawlers.

I know the second one was horrible, but four wasn't nearly as bad. I like the idea of a re-imaging of the series, and the thought of having new blood coming in and lending a fresh take and a once proud franchise.

However, NT took that too far. I understand that this is the EMO era but they went full blown twilight with his look. Not everyone enjoys that, as a matter of fact, I would say that the target audience for a game like DMC, hates that look.

Even if you already were a fan of the games, our you are one of the new people that they are trying to get on board with three series, this is just not the way to go about it.

Especially after you first showed the damn thing people were up in arms about the look of Dante, and they basically said "f%ck you guys this is what we want to do, we don't care about what you guys want".

Look at what happened with Cole and infamous 2, the fans hated the new look, voiced their opinion, and guess what? Sucker punch listened, and they are better off for it.

It's just a shitty situation.
And it's not even just the look. The developer, the engine, their new "grim and brutal" direction and everything else seems perfectly designed to destroy anything people liked about the old games. It just doesn't make sense to take out everything appealing and call it the same franchise. No one would be opposed to a new IP.

Capcom having NT design a heavenly sword/god of war style game and just call it "inspired by DMC" would make a whole lot more sense than throwing the baby out with the bath water.

Is this judgment based on anything? We've seen zero story, barely any dialog, and gameplay and designs that are much more bright and colorful and less gothy than the first four games.

I think maybe you're just kind of dumb.

It's based off of the interviews of Alex Jones and Tameem Antoniades, the press releases, the statements made by Antoniades about the current direction's inspiration and finally the fruit of that "inspiration shown in the TGS trailer and the E3 trailer (smoking, heroin chic look, putting the cigarette out on the enemy, constantly scowling character).

There's more to it than color. The past DMC games had a very tongue in cheek kind of humor about them. It was dark and gothic but filled with smirks and one liners. I'd compare it to Shadow of the Damned to link it to a recent game.
