Impressive looking. I really wish companies that make the types of game I like weren't forced to go digital only.

Why? The digital distribution means more money from them since they do not have to go through a middleman like Gamestop.

There are no publishing fees regarding paper, plastic and shipments. Sure somebody has to host the games, but that costs pennies compared to the first few bits

Lastly, digital distribution means no selling and buying pre-owned copies. No matter who buys the game, all that money will be going to the people behind the game.

This is all fine, but this "Lastly, digital distribution means no selling and buying pre-owned copies."

As a consumer this is a bad thing. Its kind of offensive actually that game companies are trying to think up ideas to stop us from selling old games or even loaning them to friends. Isn't that our right?
Image any other business trying to pull this. I doubt it would go over well.

@Destati

Physical media I can put in my collection and access any time I want without having to worry about an internet connection or the companies servers being down or gtfo.

I tend to disagree. First, you aren't paying $60 (or even $20) for the game. The need to resell or share is diminished greatly. Second, name one other place this happens? PC gaming. Even with physical discs, you often need single-use keys to play the game, making it worthless on the used market. Or DRM-protected apps or music (even physical CDs sometimes).

@bargaingamer Producer Greg Kasavin seemed pretty optimistic about a Steam release at PAX East.

Cool that Greg Kasavin is on the team that made this, I remember when he was at Gamespot.

I always seem to know what platform an indie game will be released on before I even read the description.

Artsy game with a lot of colors, despite it having gameplay mechanics of a big title game? Has to be Xbox Live

Of course its not going to do well. A birdseye action rpg on the Xbox? At least it has a gun in it, otherwise it would be a failure instantly.

hah, what? are you trying to imply this game would sell better on PSN because it's not a shooter? because if you are, that is one fabrication i can't help but call bullshit.

Reminds me a little of Beyond Oasis/ Legend of Oasis, which is a very good thing.

Sure, joke about fictional bigotry in games, gloss over the real variety when it crops up in mainstream titles.

Game looks interesting, terrible headline aside.

Nitpicky is effective, the process has turned out some fantastic visuals that's getting great reviews - e.g. http://www.diedagain.com/bastion-trailer-is-gruff-and-boozy - like other indie games. Looking forward to playing it!
