@Faenix

The developers had to find a way to strip the player of all the cool powers from the get-go. Its sequel making 101.

He lost his shield, megawatt hammer (the staple of any infamous 1 fight IMO) and his karma power. I was really disappointed they removed so much and didn't give some of it back. All in all I still love the game though.

Brown, brown, red, brown (oh yeah some gray too). This makes me appreciate inFamous 2's graphics a lot more.

Just like when the first games came out too... I played Prototype, it was cool at first running around with a whip hand and kicking helicopters until they blew up... And then 10 hours later when you were still doing the EXACT SAME THING I really started to hate it.

I was definitely in the infamous > prototype camp.

I can understand why these games are compared, but they shouldn't be. They're both great games and should both be played for various reasons.

Now... I didn't say they're great IPs, because Prototype 2 could really go either way. Let's hope it's as good, if not better than the first, just as inFAMOUS 2 was. The first fair comparison when referencing the two. GO ME!

That's what Infamous was missing, mullets. Right, and the only thing he did was shoot lightning out of hands, boooooring. I'm sure Gear of War did that first.

Well, as much as I enjoyed Infamous, I gotta say elictric based powers can be more interesting than what Cole does. Combat-wise at least.

Also, I don't see a comparison between Infamous and Prototype. They're both great at what they do.

So Prototype was bad because it had "brown, red and grey" graphics? Thank goodness you never played the first Gears of War.

Prototype had so much potential, but it had terrible progression and a lackluster plot. It didn't help that Mercer ended up playing like a rubber bouncy ball on cocaine, and that his personality was basically "I'm angry!" I mean, he absorbs the memories of everyone he kills, literally thousands of years worth of information! He should be an awesome monster super-genius! Like Hannibal Lecter with a black sword arm! How did you mess that up?!

@The Blank Mage Returns

The problem I had with Prototype was the lack of polish. The environment was bland and lacked any detail, especially the buildings and the AI was laughably bad. It was easy to escape enemies, but walking around hidden as a guard would set off warning signs if you so much as farted. Also, for what ever reason the upgrade system was just sloppy and tacked on. Many powers did the exact same thing and I can't describe how boring and repedative hijacking a helicopter became.

@StarcasM I have a PS3 and I want this game. In fact, although inFamous was better structured and had more polished I liked Prototype a lot more because all you powers in inFamous were just standard FPS guns with a few quirks here and there. In this game you can feel the power you supposedly have, Cole McGrath was just some dude with guns.

@poronponporin I agree it was more structured, but my beef is Infamous fanboys continue to bash/hate on Prototype, even when they're 2 TOTALLY different games. Graphically, infamous looked better, but the sense of NYC getting destroyed, Numerous people running around, Enemies everywhere made Prototype Dope. From jumping from a building, latching onto a helicopter, using it to cause havoc in the air as well as the ground, getting shot down, landing and taking over a tank.. -I can go on and on..

I can't wait for part two. Hate on. My money's on Prototype 2.

I personally don't own a PS3 so I can't comment on Infamous 1 or 2, but I did buy Prototype and it was everything that I expected from the game. I enjoyed it and I got nearly all achievements in it as well. Co-Op would definitely help sell the Prototype games a bit though... I loved the story line and the "Web of Intrigue" story-telling device was interesting, but it was too bogged down by the many needless people in the web to get to the guys who had the memories that truly had some importance to the storyline.
