You know, I feel like if Skyward Sword weren't a Zelda game, but it was the exact same game with different characters, Nintendo of America wouldn't touch it. Not because it's a bad game; it looks incredible. But because it's not Wii Music.

Thank heaven for Best Buy having WiiMUSIC on display... it was the only way I could convince my elder relatives *not* to purchase it.

what is awesome is I remember the fanboys raving about how relaxing the game was and how awesome it was.

Suffice to say, once the negative reviews started showing up in force, they quickly shut up and most would deny ever having heard of the game.

Or Nintendo's claim that initially poor sales weren't going to matter seeing as it was a so-called "evergreen game" that would sell constantly on a low burn.

Turns out the sales went from bad to worse, and Nintendo ultimately said "well EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES YOU KNOW".

But as bad as Wii Music was, it really wouldn't have mattered had Nintendo not made it their most important game during its respective E3. My oh my, that was a sad presentation indeed. Almost as bad as this year's MS conference.

Huh, I wonder why so many people downvoted this. What I was getting at is, this is a big, epic type of game, the type that NOA is actively refusing now.

For I can tell, it's nothing like "the naked sample". Seems like they went the lazy way around and just port the PS2 game with some features.

I wonder if those are giant Shoebills that they are riding, or if hylians are tiny elf like humans.

@TwEE
If Hylians were tiny, then the Picori would be really REALLY tiny. And seeing how there are pine trees and whatnot in Hylia, I guess the Hylians are roughly of human size.
Also I'm not really sure about this, but I read somewhere (might've been a fan site, don't remember) that humans live alongside Hylians. The only difference being the shape of the ears or something.

@TwEE Hylians and Humans are the same sizes. Twilight Princess for example, going by the ears Link was a Hylian and Ilia was a Human. Both of them roughly the same size.

So uh... Nintendo! By "more Wii games", are you perhaps meaning Last Story and Xenoblade? Because frankly... the only game I even remember coming out at all this year for the Wii is Skyward Sword, and I doubt anyone going to Comic Con is dieing to play "Ben 10 Galactic Racing" or "The Smurfs: Dance Party".

Is that blonde-haired girl we keep seeing Zelda? She looks awful. Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time had far better designs. Hell, I'd even prefer midget girl from Wind Waker.

Also, my other problem with Skyward Sword so far... The animation. Their eyes still open within one frame. They're either open or shut. No in-between animation. Stuff like that is really off-putting.

I still reckon Zelda would be the perfect Nintendo game to have voice-acting. That E3 boss battle demo was begging for a voice over. I know 99% of fans would cry out in rage if it ever happened, but I'm a big fan of Zelda and I reckon voices would really improve the atmosphere of the game.

Which reminds me what happened one time Nintendo refused to put voice-acting in a game - Super Smash Bros. Brawl got a "story" mode. Half the challenge was working out what the story was about.

Man, I want to go to Comic-Con.... One day it will happen!

Even Zelda 64 had an eye blink animation that was more than one frame.

I disagree. I really like Zelda's design in SS. It reminds me of what she looked like in all of the art for LttP.

I never even noticed the blink animation. They voice acting idea on the other hand... Zelda seems like the kind of game where that would come across as really cheesy independently from the actors' performances. Then again, it worked really well in Darksiders.
I still prefer text only Zelda I think. Just to prevent something like other M or FFX.

Of course I want to go to PAX to chill at the Nintendo Lounge, hang with comic fans and walk home with some swag, then I heard Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 will be there. If I could go, everything else is second priority.
