I love how everybody on this site bashed the Hell out of Goldeneye Wii but are now all over Goldeneye Reloaded. All because of high resolution pixels.

But then they all bash the crap out of Wii U for being little more than a high resolution Wii.

I think joystiqers suffer from Wiines envy.

@Almar072 you mean to get the game I want? Just send a game back in time to have an open slot for at least a day or 2 before the game I want ships out and remove everything else that is already out making sure the new release games is at the top....

For some reason, that got me thinking of some sweet Golden Girls related DLC...or a new multiplayer game type involving literal pissing matches (instead of arguing pissing matches) with golden showers and such.

...

yea.

I know a guy, who knows a guy (this isn't a joke) who works for Eurocom in Derby and... wait no! Come back! I know you've heard this before but it's real this time :(... Still reading? Okay. Well he said they're the ones who have made Goldeneye, it will be at Comic-Con and that its not a direct port of the Wii one. He said it started out as a port then as development went on they improved it into it's own thing. It's for 360 and PS3.

Take it with a pinch of salt! Either I'll be proved correct in a couple days or I'll look like all the other loons who "know a guy who knows a guy"

In the age of twitter and facebook "guy who knows this guy" stories are actually WAY more plausible than they used to be.

I know your comment points out that there's no evidence that I do actually have the information but that's okay :D Honestly I heard it a few hours ago tonight and posted it when I saw the story simply because I thought some other fellow readers might want to know. I'm not saying people absolutely have to believe me I'd be skeptical myself! But hey there it is. If you don't believe me it's cool I certainly don't blame you for being careful.

But on the other hand if I'm right then hey, you got to hear some stuff about it a little sooner, which is kinda cool.

To elaborate a little bit more, when I heard my first question was "How is this dude not being fired for breaking the NDA so casually? o_O" But apparently he was told today it's okay to tell friends and family as of tonight because the game's existence is already being teased (meaning the screenshots I suppose?) and it's just about to be announced anyway. Although I don't know whether that was some official thing or whether he simply assumed it'd be okay... in which case I hope he still has a job.

Really. So the Assassin's Creed series, Uncharted, Gears of War, LittleBigPlanet, Demon's Souls, Arkham Asylum, Resistance, DiRT, Bioshock, etc., etc., are all "remakes" to you?

I know it's "cool" to be cynical but please. At least TRY make some sense.

Whilst I don't fully agree with him, Profeta did actually say that this gen was "remakes, reboots and sequels", not just remakes. And as far as I'm aware, all the titles you mentioned have had at least one (if not more than one) sequel.

I'm curious about this as Nintendo owns some of the rights towards Golden Eye. So basically, that means part of the profits should be going to Nintendo.

@The Aquacharger

I don't think Nintendo owns any rights to Goldeneye.

Wasn't the prior issue with a Goldeneye port that Activision didn't want to risk ticking Nintendo off by remaking a game that was so heavily associated with one of their consoles?

I'm guessing that they care less what Nintendo thinks nowadays, which may be why they're willing to move forward with something like this.

No Nintendo owns some of the rights that's why Rare's 360 port got turned down. Also Activision owns just the 007 game rights.
A little bit of it is explained on the games Wiki page. It's a giant legal mess.

They do own some of the rights, so this game is either for Wii U or not a direct port of the Wii or N64 version.

well, Wii's Goldeneye was fun in some certain way, but it didn't capture the feeling of original goldeneye campaign. Multiplayer was a lot funnier, I mean, throwing hats at people!!!!!

anyways, it is influenced a lot by modern FPS's, so it is completely natural that it won't feel like the N64 Goldeneye, but as a standalone product (without taking care of Rare's Goldeneye), it is compelling and fun.

As far as I care, they could turn GoldenEye into a franchise and stop pushing other 007 games altogether.

Which is not happening, of course.
