Get The Maw free with Bastion purchase at Microsoft Store

Maw? Maaaawwww? Where is that little purple guy? Oh, there he is -- as part of a free Summer of Arcade promotion on the Microsoft Store. Those who pick up a copy of Bastion via the Microsoft Store will also receive a free copy of Twisted Pixel's adorable adventure, The Maw. As we mentioned only a few words ago, The Maw is positively adorable and a decent game to boot, making this an attractive deal for those interested in Bastion.
Strangely, the site notes that the deal applies to "any" Summer of Arcade purchase, though a footnote claims that the deal is valid solely for Bastion. Considering Bastion is currently the only Summer of Arcade title available, it's possible that the deal will be applied to the rest of the Summer of Arcade lineup as each title is released.

What a great way to reward me for being a loyal fan and buying it on my Xbox as soon as it was released. I hope this applies to the other games in the line up as I will get at least one more, if this deal even applies to the UK.

Woah, the price is in actual dollars instead of MS points. That's odd...

Not really. Microsoft Store is separate from Xbox. I assume it is like buying a code from Gamestop.

They sure like giving this game away. I got my copy on 1 vs 100. Plus I hear they offer it to lapsed gold members as an incentive to get them to go back to gold.

Oh well, still a great game.

The Maw really needs a sequel, or a full-disc game. Those characters are just adorable.

MS usually sends those out via a marketplace code sent to your mailbox. Hope youve been keeping an eye on your XBL email account.

And what if we already own The Maw? Is the code transferable? I already plan on getting Bastion, would love to give the maw to someone.

If it's like they say and they give you codes you could probably give that code away. Should probably have more info on MS's site.

Wait so...I miss out because I bought the game from the marketplace this morning? That's...sucky. Time to e-mail them.

Wow, talk about adding insult to injury. First you guys bump Ms. Splosion Man in favor of *Fruit Ninja Kinect*, and now you're giving away Twisted Pixel's old game as a promotional item for someone else's game?
Ouch. That's messed up.

Wow just bought a $20 Xbox live card for Bastion, but hadn't bought it yet. So now had to spend another $16 to get it with THe Maw. Oh well, I'm sure that $20 xbox card will get spend on something else in the near future. I'm thinking ITSP

I can confirm that you get both download codes immediately from the checkout screen after you click to complete the transaction. I was scared that it didn't say xbla or Xbox anywhere on the page, that it might possibly be a Games For Windows pc download I was paying for but it wasn't. I just clicked on the link to go to the xbox website and copied and pasted the codes one at a time and it added them to my queue on my xbox. Typing in codes thru xbox=pain the ass . And YES I'm sure if you already own The Maw you can give that code to someone else because when you make the purchase it doesn't ask for gamertag info or have you log in to anything.
