If God of War Collection didn't collect game well enough for you, we just might have some good news. A listing for "God of War Master Collection" has been spotted on Amazon Germany. The listing has no image or description, though it clearly states that the PS3 collection includes every single God of War title -- well, except for God of War: Betrayal. In case you've lost track, that's God of War 1, God of War 2, God of War 3, Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta.
Given Sony's penchant for fancy collections these days, a new, complete God of War compilation certainly makes sense. We've contacted Sony for confirmation on the Master Collection.
[Thanks, Josh]

I'd pay $60 for this, and I don't even like God of War.

Wait, so does this mean we can play the psp games on the PS3? If that's the case, I will buy that so very hard.

Buy this, only HARDER. Unless you want all of your God of War in one package (and this turns out to be true).

*Sniffle* I was the Producer/Director/Game Designer/Level Designer for Betrayal when I worked at SOE. I poured my heart and soul into making that game, and it gets no mainstream love... it's all but dismissed by the greater franchise managers at SCEA :( I know it was just a simple mobile game, but it accomplished it's goal of being my vision of "what if" GOW was a 16-bit style side-scroller (crammed into 350k of memory).
I would love nothing more than to see it emulated as a .99 cent download or something on PSN. It doesn't deserve to be treated like it has by the franchise IMOP; it's a true part of the GOW storyline, and was co-written by the console author and approved every step of the way by the GOW dev team (including Jaffe and Barlog) while they were wrapping up development on GOW 2, and while Ready at Dawn was in the middle of Chains of Olympus development.
In fact, my original story outline for the mobile game was to span a series of mobile games, had the level concept for fighting through a level to get to and the over the River Styx (adapted in Chains of Olympus... with no credit given to me), and culminated in a fight with Kratos' brother (unnamed at the time)... sounds sort of familiar, huh? Of course, I never got credited for my contributions when Ready At Dawn released Ghost of Sparta either, even though they built off my high level concept. Totally lame...
Thanks for reading my rant. I may have just burned a few bridges with it. In short, spam SCEA and request an emulated version of Betrayal for PSN!!!!

@(Unverified) Dude, I loved Betrayal. It was a great little game. I'd love to play through it again on PSP or PSĀ£ (maybe as a PSN Mini?). Even better, reformat the graphics to fit a 16:9 screen. It was an awesome game for mobile phones and it definitely deserves it's lace among the rest of the God of War titles.

They're an okay series. Of course in a God of War thread you're going to get some circle jerking action. But it's okay. Not brilliant, not poor. It doesn't have the exploration of Uncharted or the adventure of Zelda, it's something inbetween and not as good as either.

@Mrguy you know that guy Honestly, I would advice against it. Only if it costs somehint like 60 bucks, because God of War easily has one of the most mediocre combat systems I've ever played. As far as action / hack n slash games go, the combat is just terrible. If you are interested in its other aspects, go for it.
For me, it's just a game with pretty graphics, gore, and epic boss fights.

I've never been interested in loads of aspects of the God of War games. Mostly how repetitive and dull the PSP versions were and how greased up the PS2 versions were. I'll get this for no real reason.

This would be great it it were released, but I'm not sure why sony would do this when they're planning to release the GOW Origins disc as well.

So it's on multiple Blu-ray's then? Because GOW Collection (GoW I& II) + GoW III adds up to over 60GB of data, so a 50GB dual-layer Blu-ray wouldn't cut it.
