The 1st game was awesome..I logged like over 100 hours into that game. C'mon someone, finish this game...

Don't be disappointed, the sequel is pretty lousy. I, too, love the original Puzzle Quest; but I played the sequel for a few hours and then got rid of it. Huge let-down.

@AwRy108

Really?

That sucks. I have the second game ready to go on my desktop...I was just waiting to beat Galactrix before I boot it up.

Unfortunately, I'm finding myself increasingly unsatisfied with Galactrix. Hacking WarpGates is getting really old, really fast...the hexagonal playing field isn't helping matters, either.

The original Puzzle Quest gave me dozens of hours of entertainment. What with Galactrix not shaping up to be a proper successor, it'd be a damn shame if PQII was yet another disappointment...

Those damn sound bugs! They'll fly straight into your ear and yell obscenities all day. No wonder they had to give up on the game...

one bug and they cancelled it? I highly doubt that.

@Faenix

No, they had one sound bug left to sort before release, but they hadn't got enough free manpower to keep working on it.

It wasn't the bug itself that got it canceled. Just lack of resources. The bug was the only thing left to sort out.

The PSP version of the first game was awful, once you made a combo the animation stops for like 4 seconds, but you can still hear the action, and then all the pieces are gone, after some time I got the XBLA version and found that you actually see the combos take action, but the PSP version was very laggy.....

Something about that story seems a bit off...

No matter though...I'm sure this will see the light of day later on.

I think it was a sound bug responsible for Duke Nukem's 14 years delay, too.

the PSP version of the original Puzzle Quest is a mess. I do not doubt that there were some issues to be sorted out again, but to say that one sound bug is preventing it from being completed is strange.

Depending on severity, any decent developer would come a long way in 1-2 days for most bugs.

The PSP is a super easy platform to develop for - clean design, good set of libraries, elegant 3D and sound hardware.

@mrtoa and bad game sales. if this came out for the psp it would hardly sell much anyway, so it was a good decision.

@rahnyc4

Probably right - at least in the west.

I just gave a developers view on their "excuse" :-D.

Just strip out the sound entirely and market it as Puzzle Quest 2: Hearing Impaired Portable

Oh, so you mean I can't have another game that combines the arbitrary and uninspired gameplay of Bejewled with mindless grinding? Wow, I'm so bummed out.

The arbitrary and uninspired hatred roils off off your core like the stink from a hot bowl of Spaghetti-O's.

Wow!

That seemed quite genuine, and not at all like the opening line from an electronic appliance bullshit scam con.

i am dissapoint :(

i was a tester for puzzle quest 2 psp in work experience
i'll be honest we really didn't have a lot of faith in the psp testing back in oct 2010

but MAN... they've been working on pq2 psp slowly for almost a year and no progress... sad to see all this effort go to waste for one sound bug

I'm curious: do these conditions make it likely that the game will
be delisted from XBLA? I bought the first one, and there are two
more (part 2 and Galactix).
