Resident Evil 4 HD and RE: Code Veronica X HD infect the US this September

Fresh news out of Comic-Con for zombie hunters and presidential-daughter-babysitting-simulator enthusiasts alike: the previously announced HD remakes of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica X will be shambling and moaning onto US shores this September.

RE4HD lands on September 20, with Code Veronica X HD's charmingly incomprehensible plot following a week later on September 27. That's a few weeks after the far superior Japanese launch, not that we're bitter or anything. Both titles will be available at your local brick & mortar, through the PlayStation Network and as Xbox Live Games On Demand titles.

Their bigger offense is their DRM and other idiotic decisions. Everyone wraps the DLC fine line these days.

I simply find Capcom distasteful all over these days and considering their current lineup and rehashes - in addition to terrible management, I wouldn't miss them very much.

Maybe they'll get their act together next gen...

There will be a single save state, and you must be connected to the internet, because every time you get to a new save point, Capcom has to check and see if you bought the game.

But don't worry, if you think this will be intrusive, Capcom will take the time out to extend various offers of costumes, levels, characters and guns that you can pay for while its saving!

I would love it if Capcom locked up all the extra costumes, mercenaries levels, and mission modes in RE4HD. Not because I want to pay for it, but because it would show Capcom's dedication to ridiculous game content separation.

@Red Runner and just think if enough people buy RE4 and code veronica and they maybe if we beg enough and buy more dribble they will re release HD versions of megaman legends 1 & 2 then if they sell enough of those to finally get that company Yacht then they will release the ALREADY FINISHED legends 3 prototype game then can the game all over again.

@Red Runner I don't care about extra costumes and characters, so this wouldn't affect me.

PS Move support? Like the Wii version?

I was about to post this. I really hope thats the case because the game became even better than it already was once the controls were improved 10x on the Wii version.

I think that's only for Japan unless Capcom ends up releasing it here in the States like Ubisoft did with the Prince of Persia Collection that was on PSN and later released on Bluray.

I just want to hear the guy say "RESIDENT EVIL: CODE VERONICA X HD" when the game starts and you have to hit the "START BUTTON".

If these titles get any more ridiculous that guy is gonna need some deep breathing lessons...

I was really hoping, back at the time of the wii version release, that the creepy voice would've exclaimed: "resident evil 4: Wii edition!", but it never happened. Missed, golden opportunity for humor.

But how much?!

I beat re4 already. And I still have the dreamcast original and ps2 version of Veronica x. So, screw capcom!

I beat RE4 over 7 times on GC, im still buying it for my PS3 depending on price.

I beat RE4 13 times on the Wii and got my game run-through time down to about 2hrs 20mins. The moment it came out on Wii i traded in the GC version, and on my first run-through attempt, shaved off 15 mins. Thats how much of an improvement the controls were and i really hope the PS3 version has the same support with Move

I've been dissapointed by Capcom too much this year to care. I'm truly done.

What is the price point? I had no problem getting RE4:Wii for $20 at launch.

I don't know why, I feel disturbed that this trend of releasing "HD" remakes of previous gen games on the 360 and PS3 like crazy now. I feel that the industry will just milk it to death, just like they have with DLC. Well, people are going to buy it, so they'll make it.

Cool. I want to get RE4 HD, as long as they fixed the controls. I don't want to have to move and aim with the same analog stick for the whole game, while the other stick is completely ignored. Luckily, I originally played this game on the PC, so I was able to modify the controls.

Are the boxed copies bundled or separate? Also, are those dates for the physical copies?

They both cost 20$ each, but possible after both launches they may release both for a lower price.

Capcom makes me laugh. I'm not even a fan of Capcom at all but just seeing how badly they're hurting their fanbase makes me wonder what the hell is going on in their heads.

@Chichok I don't see how releasing an HD remake hurts their fanbase at all. Playing RE4 in HD will make a lot of their fans happy and those that don't want it, don't have to buy it. Nobody is hurt.

Sony ships their HD remakes together when it's franchise related. And they do so for $39. This is pretty typical of Capcom though. Guess I'll just be renting them from Gamefly. Six months later they will announce Ultra Resident Evil 4 Reloaded or some shit like that.

Capcoms arrogance and blatant disrespect of their fan base lately is down right disgusting.

What happened to you Capcom? You used to make good games. Have you lost your touch?

This is the only site that mentioned brick & mortar, everywhere else they said will be available via PSN and XLive. The only place confirmed as a physical release is Japan. Maybe Joystiq knows something that everyone doesn't?

After doing a little search, I still can't find any place to pre-order those games, so I'm still not sure. I watched the RE comic con panel and they only said Xbox Live VOD and PSN, just like IGN and other sites that I checked. Here's the link bellow

I will be picking up Code Veronica. And I think they will be available online for 15 bucks a piece though it could be 20. The POP HD remakes were 15 bucks each on PSN.
