You don't realize how much you love something until it's gone, it seems. In response to Capcom's cancellation of Mega Man Legends 3 over a lack of Devroom participation, an activist group calling themselves "100,000 Strong for Bringing Back Mega Man Legends 3" has taken it upon themselves to, well, bring back Mega Man Legends 3.
As the name implies, the group intends to reach a collective 100,000 members, marching with their Mega Busters held high, yellow scarves trailing in the wind. As of press time, the movement is well on its way with over 22,000 Likes at its Facebook page, as well as 300-plus followers on Twitter. "We exist to show Capcom that Mega Man Legends 3 has real fan support," reads the group's About Us page. Seeing as Operation Rainfall was, if nothing else, successful in raising public awareness, 100KSFBBMML3 has nothing to lose by giving people the opportunity to make themselves heard.
Personally, all we want is our own Data. That little guy is adorbs.

I "liked" them. Sure, why not. I doubt its effectiveness but would gladly buy MML3 if given the opportunity.

Joined. Really hope they succeed, seeing as this is one of my all-time favorite video-game series. Got the first one for my 6th birthday and I still love the game even today.
Also, judging by all the comments I've read over various threads, it seems that a lot of fans were planning on buying MML3 but didn't really want to participate in the Devroom. Capcom needs to realize this as well.

I appreciate what they are doing, but capcom shouldn't have canceled this in the first place. I mean I thought they already knew this game had a bunch of fans. I mean they got my hopes up and I was excited, then it turned out it was a drag and kicked me in the balls.

It's a shame.
There would have been infinitely more fan support for this game if it hadn't been on the DS.

1. Making it for PS3 or 360 would make it far more expensive to develop. Capcom is already wary of developing Legends 3 due to it being a likely flop.
2. All three original Legends games were on PlayStation 1, and they didn't exactly sell well.
3. It's okay to be a fan, but thinking things would magically work out better on a different platform is just being blind. Wake up, there's a huge world of gaming outside of Sony.

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze More like why the 3DS.
To be honest, I think that is a fair question. Even by Nintendo's own admission, the system is selling short of expectations. When you take a system that has yet to reach critical mass, and then pair it with a franchise that's at best a cult classic, that doesn't seem like it spells financial success.
So, to me, I wonder why they didn't choose to do it on the plain old DS instead. With 140+ million units strong, a good number of those people are probably Legends fans who would be happy to buy the game. I mean, Dragon Quest still sells like crazy on the DS, doesn't it?

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze I know he's an epic troll, but he has a point. The 3DS isn't exactly selling like hotcakes and the installed console base isn't super high yet. It would be more expensive to develop for the PS360 but they would a LOT more money as well.

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze I planned to get a 3DS for this game, but I agree. Same graphics in HD, just build it with the MT Framework, and release it on PSN or XBLA. I don't think anyone really cared about the graphics in this game anyway. PS1 level is all it needs to be. A team of 9 are working on Hawken, Legends 3 doesn't need much more.

Yes, MegaMan 64 was a port of Legends. Graphics were a bit better, but audio was worse (especially voices). Enemy placement was altered a bit, too.

@Sift The thing is though, if it was such a niche game to begin with, why would Capcom even bother to develop it in the first place and then be dicks and kill it? Honestly, it has to be because Keiji Inafune's departure that caused both Mega Man Universe and Mega Man Legends 3 to be cancelled because its far too coincidental that he's departure and then some months later they both get shelved.

I hated Mega Man Legends when it first came out due to it being nothing like the prior Mega Man series, but I clicked like to support sequels for people who enjoy them.

It is completely different, but I like it for what it is, and not hated it it for what it isn't. It's sort of a MegaMan take on 3D Zelda (except you can jump, hah).

The big question becomes.... if they do release it and this whole "the game has been canceled" or "we have no plans to release it" start to become the new marketing ploy .......
I just hope it really bites them in the ass.
I guess to an extent like the 3DS sales, since most of the people who are holdouts who will buy it are waiting for the 3DSi they know is just around the corner.....

@Sift I think the difference is that with the Facebook page, there's better circulation of news through word of mouth.
When the Devroom and MML3 was first announced, many folks jumped on it. But afterwards, Capcom didn't do much to garnish any more attention. There were only, like 2 Youtube videos and a couple of updates on public blogs. Also, they made it sound like joining the Devroom wasn't necessary to have the game completed. The only other time MML3 made any big internet news was when the Prototype version was announced, and then when it was delayed. And last of all, when the game was scrapped.
As long as many folks keep pushing the FB page, and gaming sites show that the movement exists and is making headway, getting 100k just might be possible.
