Thanks, Braid.

But honestly, I don't mind. I used to pay like $60 per new game, I'm fine with 15.

@Acosta02 As long as you can get your money's worth out of it. Castle Crashers is a prime example of doing so with great success. Still sad there won't ever be a sequel.

Yeah, if a game is really good quality I don't mind either. That sid, there are a couple of games I've seen that I would have pounced on without much thought if they were priced 800 points.

I know it's like only 5 bucks more, but that's still a mental road block I have trouble getting past sometimes. I AM Scottish though :P

I could see those 15$ games become 20$ by the next generation, also i can see Xbox Live costing 10$ a month. TAKING ALL BETS!

It took 5 years for the price to go up 20%.

I really doubt its going to double in the next few years.

A lot of people will actually be paying less for Netflix. If you don't use the discs that much you can drop that part of the service and pay less.

@Acosta They'll still be paying more for the portions of the service they keep.

Netflix is greedy but so are the ISPs that harass Netflix for eating bandwidth.

Netflix is raising their prices because it's becoming less economically feasible to ship DVDs by mail at the prices they have been at for the last 4 years. DVD rental rates have started to decline, and shipping costs have only gone up. Yeah, it's anger-inducing, but it's certainly understandable. Businesses aren't charities; you try to make a profit. That's the whole point.

@Theneverendingsoda Netflix did a poor job of breaking the news but the fact is, if they didn't raise their prices, Netflix will disappear in 5 years. Their licensing contracts are coming due and they are anticipating paying almost $2 Billion for content as opposed to the quarter of a billion they are paying now. Why Netflix didn't just come out and say that I'm not sure, but that's what's going on.

It really depends on if it's a quality title and the replay value is there. I bought a couple 1200 point games on release... I think the earliest was Castle Crashers... I've had hundreds of hours of entertainment from this small title more so then some of the big budget games out there. :) If the devs make a quality game of course people are willing to pay a premium for it. Though I'm glad Mrs. Splosion Man was only 800 points since I really enjoyed the first back on release... good on the devs! :D

This doesn't bother me considering I have had more fun with most XBLA/app store games than retail titles for at least the last year and a half. I do wish Microsft would follow Apple/Sony's lead and drop the silly restrictions on achievements/gamerscore on Arcade. There is no reason it can't fall more in line with retail. Someone could make the argument of value for price but I really don't think anyone gives a crap.

As long is it has the content to back up the price tag, I have no problem. But if they bump the 1200 games to 1600 and 800 to 1200 for no reason, somebody is going to get plowed by the Cole Train.

Honestly a lot of those games are definitely worth the 1200 ms points($15). I think I've spent more time on Castle Crashers than some retail box titles, and I know I'll spend more time on Torchlight as well.:D

A lot of the 800 point games are great too.

There's a lot that are worth every penny. But the ones you named should of been 800 rather than 1200. But games like Shadow Complex and Trenched are well worth 1200.

I would call you a wise shopper. All games go on sale eventually anyways, so why pay more when you can pay less. And unless the game has online co-op or online multiplayer so you can play with your friends, there really is no need to buy a game close to release day.

Considering that we used to pay 5 bucks for an atari port or a single palyer only twinc stick shooter, aying 15 for a game with a full 6hour campaign and multiplayer coop isn't bad at all.

@Uberdave - This. I see so many people whining that there are hardly any 400 point games anymore but most people seem to forget what 400 point games were.

They were ports of old arcade & Atari games, not the fresh, original, often innovative titles that we have now.

Yes, there were a few original titles for $5 but they were the exception, not the rule.

@Mcmax3000 But... I liked most of the arcade ports. I actually bought and enjoyed a majority of them. 1200 points for a new game is fine, but I bought many more games, and spent much more money, at the $10 and below pricepoint. I know its just $5 difference, but its a mental barrier. Digital games are just money you set on fire, I can't trade them, sell them, or lend them to a friend. Once it starts pushing $15-$20, I'd rather look for a good deal on a retail game.

Some of my favorite games of this gen are XBLA titles - Bastion, Splosion Man, Limbo, N+, Secret of Monkey Island, Guardian of Light, and Shadow Complex. Sure, I don't like the prices going up, but many of these games provided just as much entertainment as $60 titles.

Why can't you be more like (ORTHROK) now that is one disturbed kid he trolls and hates on everything. eg. multiplayer games, fighting games,FF games, xbox, ps3, nintendo and steam service to name a few. Step your game up buddy you are no longer my favorite troll.
