Tekken Hybrid Blu-ray packs Tekken Tag Tournament 2 'Prologue'

When you buy the Tekken Hybrid set, you'll get an HD version of the first Tekken Tag Tournament for PS3. You'll also get a playable sample of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, producer Katsuhiro Harada announced at Comic-Con. Oh, and the Tekken Blood Vengeance movie, of course.

The trailer shows Alisa and Xiaoyu, who will be playable in the "Prologue," fighting Devil, who hasn't been previously revealed as a character appearing in this game. And speaking of unconfirmed news, a console release still hasn't been announced for Tekken Tag 2 -- even though it now has a console demo.

The Hybrid set will be out sometime in November, but if you have a hankering for a bite-sized Tekken Tag experience now, you can get Tekken Bowl on iPhone -- for free!

Devil was already known to be in the game, Kazuya can transform into him at will during matches and visa versa.

Also Harada has said in a few interviews that they're working on the console version and trying to get it out as soon after the Japanese arcade release as possible.

I didn't think the article was very clear. I'm sure this is possible on dvd also.

@Troy Powers The whole package simply cannot fit inside a DVD, but I'm sure (if they want) they will release it on both platforms.
So proud to be a PS3 owner right now.

DLed TEKKEN BOWL (iOS) last night, a fun minigame, though they dropped everyone but Xiaoyu, Jin, and Panda as characters... And added a puzzle mode. But hey, it's small in file size and free, so it's all good.

I'll have to check if Best Buy/Amazon/MovieStop have preorders set up for TEKKEN HYBRID though. TEKKEN TAG TOURNAMENT was major reason for me to get a PS2 in the early days of that console, so I'm hyped for the sequel... even more in light of CAPCOM's recent "Douche Le'Baggins" activity!

And I guess the animated movie couldn't be any worse than the earlier anime or the recent live action movie. Right? x_o?

So apparently, TTT2 doesn't look much better than the PS2 original did? Ouch.

@szimm troll harder. seriously, fire up your PS2, play some TTT and then watch gameplay videos of TTT2. if you think they look even remotely similar, take your glasses and return them.

Also, that was TTT1hd. Meaning they up'd the rez from what it used to be or the visual gap would have been even greater between he two.

I love Tekken Bowl, but it's time for Tekken Golf! It'd be like Ninja Golf, but with robots, bears, and kangaroos. I hope to see it in TTT2.

TTT HD? Because y'know, we're going to recreate that scene when TTT2 comes out (though I wouldn't mind -- had a crazy Jin/Kaz back in the day!).

Oh well, pretty nifty.

As for the console port: I'm thinking SSF4AE -- got to wait months later so that the arcades could milk some money.

Looks great, the first Tekken Tag was very good but I used to spend do much more time on Tekken bowl instead, same as Tekken beach ball in Tekken 3... Ahh good times indeed :)
