Well hopefully they can make a game that have characters that don't look like they belong in Unreal Tournament & Gears Of War. Not that I don't like those games, I just don't like games that have so similar looking characters.

I'm going to bet that his new unnanounced IP is one of the following:

Casual mini-game fest
Generic shooter

Bring back Jazz Jackrabbit!

Exactly what I was thinking. I wish they'd make a new Jazz Jackrabbit game, or even bring back Xargon or Jill of the Jungle. Of course we can't have fun colourful games anymore, we have to have the same slow ass, dank, tiresome space marine shooters over and over and over and over and over again.

We have had plenty of colorful games this generation. Lambast Epic if you want, but they DID just publish Bulletstorm which was fun and colorful and nobody bought it. You're harping on a symptom when gamers are the root of the actual disease.

Uh, we have colourful minigame collections and tiny downloadable/mobile games.

I'm talking about 3d platformers, 3d action adventure games like Beyond Good and Evil, and shooters like Timesplitters or No One Lives Forever. There's barely any of that now; everything is a gritty faux realistic military game.

Bulletstorm wasn't colorful, it was more of the same grunting military space marine crap only with a few minuscule hints of creativity from People Can Fly lost under the crushing weight of Epic's status quo design.

Hey at least I'm not the dumbass somehow saying Bulletstorm wasn't colorful. You might as well say Gears of War doesn't have any blood. I guess it's too much to ask for people to criticize games they've actually played.

As a side note, did you try Enslaved? That's the closest thing I can think of recently that fits what you're looking for. Or the new Alice? Or Red Dead? Or Assassin's Creed Brotherhood? Or Infamous? Or Bayonetta? If you want something *more* colorful/creative than that you'll have to start looking at games by Nickelodeon.

Or maybe nobody bought it because they had a different opinion on how fun it was.

Also, they only published bulletstorm, PFC were the devs, as people were so quick to point out before it was released. Obviously epic had their hands all over it, but still.

It's too bad bulletstorm was so bleh, Painkiller rocked.

All you revealed with your Bulletstorm rant is that you didn't play it. The only "space marines" are a few (very few) of the enemies. On top of Bulletstorm and just off the top of my head, this generation we've gotten: Galaxy 1 & 2, NSMBWii, DeBlob 2, LBP 1 & 2, DKC:R, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Epic Mickey, Ratchet and Clank: Future, Enslaved, Maijin and the Forsaken Kingdom, ME 1 & 2, Red Dead Redemption, Darksiders, Dead Space 1 & 2, LA Noire, Demon's Souls, Catherine, Saints Row 1 & 2, Oblivion, Alan Wake, and Arkham City.

If it's shooters you're looking for we've gotten: Metroid Prime 3, Bioshock 1 & 2, Bad Company, Halo: Reach, Goldeneye Wii, the aforementioned Bulletstorm, Vanquish, Crysis, Far Cry 2, Sin and Punishment 2, Rainbow Six: Vegas 1 & 2, and many others I can't think of right now.

That particular complaint is just plain not true. I've been gaming since before the NES and there has never been a generation with such AAA diversity and quality, naysayers be damned.

If they didn't play it then their opinion is uninformed and therefore insipid and irrelevant. And if you read my comment then you would see that I implicitly stated that Epic PUBLISHED Bulletstorm. I gave them no credit for anything else, rightly or wrongly. The point is that whether or not he likes a particular game doesn't matter. He stated that there are no colorful and fun games. Personally, I can't throw a rock in my house without hitting a few.

I hope it's about the tech demo they put out. That world looks badass(on a potential gameplay level, not graphics that I know current gen can't reasonably put out).

I bet the new IP is hidden in plain sight in one of their recent engine demos. The same was true with Gears of War. They'd demo the Unreal Engine 3 using Gears assets well before its release, and no one knew it was an actual game on display.

I bet by "new" they mean not new at all and featuring the same giant grunting bald men as every other epic game.
