@SmilinGoat I really do. These DLCs are basically what modders used to do, just not free.

Civ fans, a question for you: I LOVE Civ II and Civ III, hated Civ Revolution. Would I like Civ V?

@Breakdown

I don't think so. This has some Revolution like things in the mix.

@xiLeShadow

Thanks for the input, maybe I'll just stick to Civ III.

good chance that you wont. a lot of civ 3/4 loyalists hate it. i personally still think its the best yet, in large part due to the DLC.

There's a demo for the game on Steam.

@Breakdown I think you would. This game is pretty complete, and takes things a step further. In my opinion, this is the best thing the Sid Meyer team has created, and I've played most of the series. Try it out, it wouldn't hurt.

@Breakdown I loved Civ 4 and while there are still some things it does better, overall I think Civ 5 is the better game - it just flows better I think. Though I do miss religion. (which is ironic since I'm an atheist :) )

You won't like it. Civ 5 is a very different game compared to 2/3/4. IMO it has been dumbed down/ simplified by the Civ Revolution elements

@Breakdown I really like a lot of what Civ 5 brings to the table, but it does have traits from Civ Rev which many see as flaws - over simplification of social policies (basically perks), and elimination of government and religion, and diplomacy could be more robust. DLC is nice but not even close to worth the price.

If you catch it on sale on Steam on the cheap, then its a good buy.

I got this on sale for 10 dollars. Doesn't work well on my Macbook here so I'll be bringing my custom PC out for next semester.

I appreciate the civ DLC, but:

1. It's way too pricey.
2. The wonder DLC is an awful value.

Just like every other DLC for this game, this should have been included in the original release, and is way overpriced for what it is.

Vanilla civ v is pretty huge, I dont think thats a fair statement.

I will say this DLC might serve better if it were free or if the first 3 were bundled in an Expansion pack and released at $15 that MIGHT take the edge off a little more for me personally.
