It's time to pay the piper. ... And yes, we're talking to you, indie games.
We here at Joystiq have long been supporters of the independent game design scene and now that the third Humble Indie Bundle has surpassed $2 million in sales, we figure it's time indies returned the favor. Now, like doting parents advancing into their sunset years, we'll move down to Edgewater Pointe Estates in Boca Raton, kick our feet up and tell them to send the bill to our beloved "Indie Games."
By the way, you've got fewer than 12 hours to buy the bundle, which will now net you 12 games if you donate more than the average ($5.81 at the moment). But hey, why not give a little more than that? We've had our eye on a new Rascal.

So glad to see this being so successful. What's up with that weird web site as the top donor?

I know...I know... Forgive what you'll think is a BS answer, but I could never really decide how much to donate...Oh, and most of my money is cash right now, and by today's standards, everyone assumes you're a serial killer with that note (I'm not, everyone calm down).

Aren't these DRM free? Conceivably, you could pair up with a friend and donate $12 ($6 each)... and both of you can have the games.

I keep buying these even though I know I have no time to play any of the games, lol.

I finally caved and bought the bundle (got the Humble Bundle 2 thrown in as well). First time I've ever bought a game (much less 12) for my computer since I'm a Mac user who's a mostly console gamer anyway. Couldn't use the Steam keys to activate them on my account though. I only downloaded Steam for the free Portal when it first came out for Macs so I haven't had to use keys for anything else since. Still waiting for a response from Steam support but I hear they're pretty good.

Now by 12 hours you do mean thru and not sometime around I know I've only had a few weeks to buy this but I was hoping to wait to the last minute to buy!

Man, this bundle got so HUGE in such a hurry! When I initially bought it, I just wanted to contribute what I could and figured the 5 games was plenty enough, then they throw tons more at me just because I was generous enough. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining and was happy they were rewarding me (and enticing further contributions), but man have they contributed to my increasingly large backlog!

I had the same problem with Steam for Mac. I had to check for Steam updates. It updated and then worked fine.

Ok, so I bought this at the very beginning stages for just above the average PC price of like 4 bucks. Then suddenly hey added like 7 more games. I actually kind of feel like a cheap bastard right now.
