God, I actually liked the first 3 as sad as that may be, but the 3 minutes of straight slow-motion in the 4th one made me want to scratch my eyes out.

You claim to hate the 4th one for slow motion usage, but fail to point out that the second one was the worst offender of them all, slow motion AND bad quality at that.

@blackangel209 I loved 1-3 as well. Number 4 didn't even continue off of 3 which was disappointing then it was slow and it was "Hey look 3D" "Hey look SLOW MOTION!" for the first 45% of the movie.

They need to do a true follow up to 3.

But 4 was right after 3. The end of the 3rd one ends in Nevada, all the survivors but Alice get to the chopper to go to Arcadia, Alaska. Alice stays and tries to kill the lead guys in Umbrella, defeating most but not all, and then finding all her clones, and setting them free, then it ends. The 4th one starts in Japan's Umbrella facility where Alice takes all her clones to assault the base. We don't need a movie to show how she went from Nevada to Japan.

Later on, she flies to Alaska to try and meet up with the others.

@Scuba Steve The first one was alright and I was happy about it. It touched on ground that wasn't explicitly detailed in the RE games so they had liberties with it. And then with the second one I knew they were treading on dangerous ground by throwing Nemesis in and I was both excited and scared for it. At first I was happy while watching the movie... but as it led on I felt the charm of the character was lost. He didn't come beasting through walls at people at times when you had no ammo. And at the end he got bitched out and had a change of heart? Really? After that I stopped caring about them and spit on them as they add more and more shit that just defecates all over the original material. R.I.P. Nemesis...wait... does that work? I mean he was like dead and then undead... so pieces... yes rest in pieces.

Wtf...can we just kill this lame movie series. The last movie was trying so hard to be the Matrix. There was like a slo-mo scene every few minutes.

I can't say I watched the last movie, but there is something comforting about seeing new Resident Evil movies come out. I don't know why. Maybe I just like to see that series getting attention, and hey it's not Uwe Boll directing.

@mac15444 even though the 4th one is by FAR the worst one in the series, it made 300 mill worldwide with a 60 mill production budget. It's more than what the previous two made combined. The name sells. For the record, I honestly liked 1 and 3.

Now if they wanted to do this right, they'd give all the main RE characters a bit of back story and connect them all to each other. Then they would all together defeat wesker. Who obviously did not die in the last movie, from the look of things.

This series is in desperate need of a reboot and done correctly. RE has great potential to be a good movie franchise if it was in capable hands. Paul Anderson has no idea what he is doing, he's not that great of a director and an even worse writer.

People like to complain about these movies but the numbers speak for themselves. Somehow I suspect that probably half of the people that complain about it secretly watch every one of them and dare enjoy parts of them.

They're not great or even good sometimes but they're not the worst thing out there and considering the subject material (moar zombies11!!1), believe it or not, it could be a lot worse.

It's not like Capcom themselves are being brilliant with the story-lines in their games either atm. Even they squandered all the intrigue that was originally behind the games. Now it's mostly, ooops Umbrella's gone done it again! With little back story or anything.
For the record, I don't really care for the movies but they're not godawful. There's plenty of movies that are sadly far worse than these.

Totally understandable that this is the total actions of corporate greed and milking a franchise till the cow itself is dead. To be 100% honest, and I swear to the spaghetti monster in the sky that grants me wishes that I refused (and still do) to watch and support these movies. When I saw Nemesis turn into a "good guy" I got mad... I cried. I cried like how a child cries after finding out that the person he looked up to turned out to be a total douchbag.

....damn you brainless movie-goers... ....damn you...

Yes...

I'm sorry you can't read and are color blind. (Notice the blue highlight and three hearts much?)

I genuinely am ambivalent towards them. I watch them with a few friends who do enjoy them as popcorn movies, not canon movies...

And I need a prayer? You're the person who hates them but has watched all of them to be an authority that they suck.

Move along troll.

I love all the Resident Evil movies. There seem to be a lot of haters with this series, but I love them for all the special effects, adrenaline-pumping music, and action/fighting choreography.

Afterlife was actually my favorite. Hearing the apocalypse remix of The Outsider by A Perfect Circle kick in during the action-packed Wesker/Redfield/Alice fight scene was simply amazing. The Chris/Claire Redfield storyline is just my favorite part about it all. Wentworth Miller did a great job filling that role as well.

I'm there with you, I love the movies. I find it funny that RE fans of the games think the stories in the movies suck while pretending like the story in any of the games was any good. GTFO. The plots have always been nonsense.
