MotorStorm Apocalypse update adds make-a-mode, Move support
14
Evolution Studios and Sony America have announced the release of an update to Motorstorm Apocalypse that's probably beefy enough to charge for -- luckily, they didn't! The update, which went live earlier today, adds a network for sharing your customized vehicles, streamlines a few online multiplayer options, and includes support for the PlayStation Move and select racing wheel peripherals.
The update also adds a "Mode Editor," which allows you to tweak pretty much anything you want in a given race. For example, with two clicks, you can disable both brakes and gravity. The potential for unintentional hilarity here is dizzying.

I'm not that into racing games, but this update certainly makes me interested in MotorStorm Apocalypse. I'd love to at least see how the community responds to being able to customize modes for online play, lord knows I wish Killzone 3 could do that for non-private matches.

Got the platinum for Apocalypse when it came out, then decided to take a good long break from it. Still feeling a bit fatigued, but all the stuff they've been adding is pretty tempting. When I finally go back to it, it's going to be epic.

Surely, with no gravity, 'down' is the last place you'd be

It makes me feel good when developers support their game and fans like this.
Take note Capcom.

True but they go so far, it's hard to match.
Let's all not forget about Criterion and how amazing they were with Burnout Paradise.

You had me at no brakes. With no gravity, I think I need to lie down.

BTW The update isn't going live until Friday Afternoon/Evening. Apparently there's PSN maintenance beforehand, but I'm not sure which locations that includes.

Just the US and EU PSN's were down for maintenance.
Which is now... complete.
Evolution (Studios) rock! Nice update for an almost year old game. 'Respect'

How's the Move support work? If it's like Excite Truck, count me in.

Very impressed with the free update. Finally a company giving stuff instead of taking it away to sell in micro-transactions.

This looks cool, too bad Apocalypse was nothing like Motorstorm. I'm still waiting for the real third instalment.
