Amazon handheld gaming sale begs you to go outside and play

Amazon wants you to get out of the house. We know it's hot enough to fry bacon on the asphalt outside, but you're permanently indenting your desk chair and the cat thinks your pajama pants are a scratching post. Reddit will survive without you for a day, we promise. Fine -- you can take your 3DS. And here, have some amazing deals on portable games too; just get out.

Amazon's Summer Road Trip Handheld Gaming Event features some sweet deals on PSP, DS and 3DS titles, with some games 50 percent off. For example, on 3DS, Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition is $30 and BlazBlue Continuum Shift 2 is $20; on PSP, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together is $15, and for DS, Professor Layton and the Curious Village is $14 and Disney Jonas is only $10 (oh yes). We don't know when this sale will end, so jump on it now. Please. Your skin is turning transparent.

4??? What a n00b. I have 2 NA versions, 1 PAL limited release version, 3 Japanese editions (one with the rare moustache misprint on Joe's face), and 3 of the 3D World Tour concert edition with holofoil covers and autograph from one of the Jonas Brothers themselves(not the famous one though).

Getting the 3DS last Thursday was just an awesome idea for me. The system has given me more fun than I could have imagined WITHOUT even buying any 3DS games.

I can't wait for the ambassador plan to kick in.

Agreed! Made me feel a bit "old" since I was having a blast with the "apps" and games it came with! Should I be having this much fun?

FINALLY getting TWEWY... I keep forgetting to buy this. No longer, though!
Also picked up Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions. The new games sound neat, plus it has CE and Legions.

Mmm TWEWY. I have so many hours racked up in that game. So close to getting 100% on everything but I stopped playing and now I forget about the different methods to get certain pins. :(

There are a lot of good items on that list, especially for some high profile games one might have missed.

...and wow do those 3DS game prices still need to come down.

Wait, let me get this right, some people HAVEN'T already played Tactics Ogre or Chrono Trigger already?

@Andrew12h I've never played Tactics Ogre, but I've beaten Chrono Trigger like 50 times so I'm sure it balances out.

I should pick up a couple of these since I've been going on an old school RPG kick.

Actually in fairness I haven't played chronotrigger in years, primarily because my friend broke my SNES cart. Certainly wasn't going to choke down the $30+ they wanted when they relaunched it on the DS.

But at $15 ...... I think I can tolerate that.

I keep forgetting that Kingdom Hearts 2 wasn't the last KH game released. Must... grip... wallet... tightly...

I can always guess when sales are going to be going on. When I have no money. A few months back or a few weeks from now I'd be on these like green on broccoli. Maaaybe I can swing one $14 psp RPG without feeling guilty.

All you fools can keep buying multiple copies but any hardcore fan is running version 3.2, which was before they implemented the DoT to the Promise Ring snare. No LEGITIMATE tournament will allow that garbage.

Dragon Quest V is a steal at that price. Not only is it a great game, but it was going for nearly $80 a few months ago. In other words, you can enjoy one of the greatest JRPGs of all-time and rub salt in the wounds of eBay hoarders.

Aww, I was waiting for a 3DS sale but this one sucks. Then I checked my cart and saw that OoT went down to $30. Good enough for me. Thank you Amazon.

Too bad international shipping is a rip-off, and 3DS games are region free. If shipping was cheaper, I would have bought the remaining stock of Disney Jonas.

I don't care who you are, no one is a bigger Jonas Brothers fan than me. They're that gaywad trio that can't sing and have that horrible TV show, right? Yeah, well, I'm their biggest fan. I'm not like the Bieber-hater in Oz though. My eggs won't miss.

Saturday I had Zelda 3D and Monster Tale in my cart, waiting to purchase.

For some reason, I instead went to bed. I got up Sunday morning and went back to my cart and, low-and-behold, both were ten bucks off!

Hit that checkout button so fast!

Still waiting for some awesome, exclusive 3DS games to come. I'm not interested in Zelda or Street fighter.

When I get the 3DS later on, Mario 3D, Kart 7 and other game made exclusively for the 3DS are the ones I want.

Motherf****er! PSP keeps taunting me with Tactics Ogre but I'm going to stay strong and wait for the Vita to come out. Must.. not.. buy.. almost... obsolete.. hardware!

I totally regret not buying a PSP like 3 years ago.
