looks like any other shooter, not a bad thing. just that these devs always make it seem like theyre making something "revolutionary".

This is definitely one where the fun feel of the gameplay will decide where it's worth getting, so a demo is very very welcome!

I've played it, I wanted to like it but it's... just nothing new. Most of the things it's trying to do have already been accomplished in a better way by Bulletstorm... and not being able to walk while aiming? What is this, Resident Evil?

@KGameLover1 You can walk while aiming, it's just done a strange way. If you have the Left Trigger held completely down you'll go into the "peek aiming" whereas if you have the trigger held slightly down (halfway) then you can move while aiming. Really, really annoying IMO.

My initial impression of the demo is just "meh". The explosive bullets or whatever was on d-pad right felt like it had no impact (damage and visually), and the skillshot thing was extremely basic (especially when compared to Bulletstorm). The environment felt cluttered to me, and the enemy AI is terrible at times. The developers said they were going for a real arcadey feel, so I'll admit they hit that head on. The only thing I really liked was being able to double-tap the grenade button for impact explosions

Yuuuk, wasnt to my tastes at all. Want fun get Bulletstorm. Had this game been released 2010 or 2009 maybe it would have piqued my interest a little.

Nice effort though guys.

Will try the demo for sure. Not having heard much about this game, and just from the trailers, first impression is that it looks like Battlefield, Jr., minus vehicles plus lean mechanic.

Demo was pretty fun. It's sort of an ugly game and the default look speed is way too slow; even at 100% it's not really to my liking. Also the AI is dumb as bricks.

That said, the guns (all two of them, for this demo. They really should have provided some options) felt cool and powerful, and while you couldn't knock down buildings or anything the micro destruction elements added a good amount of impact and cinematic flair to the "feel" of each shootout. I played it through three or four times (it's a pretty short demo) and found new paths through the level in each playthrough, which was pretty neat. They didn't make a whole lot of difference except in terms of your angle of attack but it was nice that it wasn't like super-linear corridor stuff.

I'm gonna put this on my to-rent list. Maybe I'll buy it if the multiplayer is good.

This is one of those games that has me worried. So a demo might be the best possible indication on whether to even give it a look. Going to ask my friend to download it.

I like that we are finally seeing the return of lean/duck. It has been MIA in mainstream shooters for too long.

Played the demo and it was pretty meh. Honestly, I don't see very many people picking this game up at launch -- especially for full retail price ($60). Bodycount definitely feels like one of them budget titles like EDF: IA, and should be priced as such. I expect to see it on sale on Amazon for less than $40 in about 2-3 weeks from now.

Played it, was terrible. I love pretty much every game, and none make me blatantly bored. This was just... bad. The gunplay was bad, the graphics were bad... It just feels... bad.

For a game touted to be the spiritual successor to Black, it is VERY disappointing. The guns sound weak, the score is lame, and the graphics aren't that great. The destruction is on a much smaller scale than I anticipated too.

@STEMW3 The game is developed by Guildford Studio, Codemasters is just the publisher.

I find it funny how Bullet Storm got so much flack originally, but now people are actually starting to give it credit. "Oh yeah, Bullet Storm did that first", "Bullet Storm was a much better coriddor shooter than this one", etc.

I thought Bullet Storm was actually a really good game- people just didn't give it credit because they thought that Duke Nukem Forever was going to be leagues better and they hated it right off the bat just because it was touted by Cliffy B.

In all honesty, its managed to do something that all the rest of these recent "arcade shooters" haven't been able to do: provide fun gameplay. Yes, it had its quirks, but overall, Bullet Storm was fun. Duke Nukem Forever and friends? Not so much.

Despite the game not looking that great, I kind of liked the destruction and the arcade-y orbs. Definitely has a Bulletstorm vibe to it.

Too bad LT stops you from moving. Why would I want to lean in a game like this? And yeah, I understand that I could partially hold the trigger and still be able to move, but that would mean forgetting 10+ years of shooter controls.

Bulletstorm meets Brink. This game is about 12 months out of date already.

Will the full version have multi player?

@Gobertron This game is nothing like Brink apart from the art style, its more of a cross between Bulletstorm and Black (Which is only 800 MSP on XBL atm)

It feels like in this age of FPS games, so many are missing the mark. Looking forward to try the demo out to see for myself how good or bad this game is.

Disappointing to see yet another early consensus that yet another FPS is balls.

If the 'meh' word of mouth concerning the demo is straight up and the full game turns out to be more of the same, Stuart Black leaving the project some time ago certainly was the writing on the wall.
