Silent Hill HD Collection also heading to Xbox 360, Konami 'aiming' for simultaneous launch on both consoles

Silent Hill: Downpour producer Tomm Hulett announced -- in video form -- during Konami's Gamescom press conference that the upcoming Silent Hill HD Collection would also be coming to Xbox 360. It was initially announced for PlayStation 3 only. According to Hulett, the HD Collection's Xbox 360 version is coming as a result of fan response to the originally announced exclusivity.
Without giving a solid release date (the game is currently pegged for "September/October") Hulett noted that Konami is "aiming" to release Silent Hill HD Collection on both consoles simultaneously.

@FuriousMailman I have a Xbox 360 already and a got a PS3 cheap off my friend so I could play the exclusives (Metal gear 4, Resistance, Ratchet & Clank).
When multiplatform games came out, I always bought it for 360 since most of my friends also have an Xbox and the Xbox live party system is a great way to keep in touch with old friends.
It wasn't out of spite or "XBOX IS BETTER THAN PS3 OMGSH" sort of rubbish. Just needed the dollar :(
I'm pretty gutted I had to sell it but next spring I will be looking at getting the Vita to replace my PSP :)

Wow, relax with the trolling guys. So what if he sold his PS3? There could be a lot of reasons for it.
There are a lot of good reasons to own EITHER system (I personally own both), but YOUR fanboyism/PS3 elitism is readily apparent.

how has blu-ray not "taken off"? it's the newest form of multimedia that will, eventually, be replacing dvds altogether. hell, it beat out hd dvds big time. one good thing about blu-rays is how much data they can hold compared to a dvd, and given how games are getting bigger and hence needing to be put on more and more dvds (see: LA Noire, Mass Effect 2, Rage, etc. etc.) i think it's Microsoft who is going to have to come out with a new solution, especially if they plan on sticking with the 360 for another 2-3 years.
by that time, i imagine pretty much all of the big blockbuster games will take up at least 2 dvds, and for some people (like myself) that can mean the difference between purchasing a game on the 360 or the PS3. it would be fine if Microsoft at least allowed people to buy on demand 360 titles that take up multiple dvds of physical disc space, but as it is now, if you look at their "on demand" catalog, you will see that they don't.

Lol...I would sell it, but it'd be at a loss. Might as well just keep the damn thing and not pay for Live.

Yeah didn't make sense in the first place. Want to sell a lot, support the console with a higher user base.

HD! It's like being in the future, if the future was 2001 and instead of a console you were playing it on PC.

Here's wondering how they're going to knock the ugly out of SH1.
Seriously, it's probably my second favorite in the series but the thought of playing it while it's all busy looking like it does makes my under-tit sweaty with disgust.
I'd still play it though.
Once for each available ending.

Didn't much care for 3 that much, but I'll get this just for 2 at least. That's the best in the series.

not at all. most of the SH games had very loose connections between each one.

@Reggie FilsAime Shattered Memories isn't a remake, its supposedly a re-imagining of SH1, but the only thing it shares with the original are the names of the characters and the town of Silent Hill

I wish it had The Room, which I personally liked. However, I've already got it on the original Xbox so no worries. I'm just excited to relive Silent Hill 2 again. Which mainly consisted of me praying for every door to remain locked or broken so I wouldn't have to succumb to the horrors.

Apparently it's super easy to get this on a different platform then, if they don't even have to change the release window? Or were they planning it all along and being dicks about it?

I couldn't even choke my way through 4 originally so I can't say I'll miss it here, but I'm surprised they didn't throw in the remake of SH1 (Shattered Memories) and make it a 1-3 collection. Maybe they'll throw that and Origins together at some point if this collection does well.

I think if they included Shattered Memories it would mess up the continuity for SH 3 since that was a sequel to the events in the PS1 SH game. I haven't played Shattered Memories but from what I have read it is an almost completely different game other than the character names and a few other details.
