God i love Zelda! Twilight Princess was underrated i believe and not given the chance it deserves. Xenoblade comes out locally in 2 weeks as well. I've always like the Wii but as the lifecycle seems to be drawing to a close, great games like this are popping up to tie me over till the Wii U comes out. Definite must buys for me are Xenoblade, Zelda SS and ME3.

Yes i am aware that ME3 isn't on a Nintendo console, i was just mentioning that in a list of "must have" titles coming out in the near future. Diablo 3 and the SC2 expansion are on that list too.

@Foetoid Xenoblade is out in 2 days not two weeks. My order was dispatched today.

Had almost forgotten this new Zelda game

Why do people have to keep reminding me that Xenoblade is releasing in EVERY market except the US.............

It almost makes me want to cancel my pre-order for Skyward Sword.

@Foetoid Replace Twilight Princess with Okami and then you can talk about a game being underrated and not being given the chance it deserves. TP was vastly overrated if anything.

Seriously. Okami, and Darksiders (come to think of it) were twice the Zelda games that Twilight Princess was. If any one was underrated, it was definitely Wind Waker.

if Darksiders wasn't so friggin' glitchy i might agree with you because it was a nice Zelda-esque game. but it was glitchy throughout and a game ending glitch right at the end pretty much killed it for me.

I know no one will agree with me, but WindWaker featured some of the most shallow puzzles ever in a Zelda game, only the atmosphere, graphics, and music made up for it.

It had a metascore of 95. How is that underrated? It was the 3rd highest rated game on the wii and one of only 11 to break a score of 90.

I agree Twilight Princess wasn't underrated at the time (95 score, etc) but there was a massive backlash afterwards - it's now cool to hate the game, so you could claim it's underrated *now*. Sort of the opposite effect to Wind Waker. Personally, I played both games when they came out and I liked both of them a lot; not sure I need to judge which is better. (TP had amazing art direction etc... Wind Waker had the sailing, which unlike everyone else I thought was great.)

Also, I'm sorry (watch this get downvoted by the hordes) but I played it for the first time when it came out on Wii and immediately next to replaying Zelda: TP... and in my opinion, Okami is nowhere near as good.

It is a good game for sure but it simply isn't as polished as Zelda. The combat gameplay sucks (Zelda combat is ridiculously easy but it's not actively annoying) and the art direction, while more original, is not as good as Zelda: TP either. Oh, and the drawing mechanic only works about half of the time. How did they manage to make an engine that fails to recognise drawing a *circle*? (Not like a massive problem, you can just do it again. But still an annoyance.)

Don't get me wrong, Okami is a really good game; I'd definitely recommend it to Zelda fans. In particular, drawing the flowers onto cherry trees was just a really nice feeling; and many of the characters were quite endearing too. But it wasn't as good as Zelda.

If they had chucked the combat system, made the drawing work all the time, and delayed it another year before release to polish it like Nintendo usually do, it probably actually would have been better than a Zelda game. :)

@Foetoid What do you mean underrated? Zelda TP (GC version) has a average of 9.6 on Gamerankings. It is far from underrated.

The Shield has meter, can anyone explain this? I'm hoping they release a bundle with the Wii motion plus; that would be a good move, for the majority of people who want this title including myself, might or most likely don't even have the Wii motion plus attachment.

I actually think it's some sort of stamina meter, if I remember correctly. There are some gameplay vids that describe what that is exactly. Link can sprint and climb quicker using it. I think that's correct anyways.

The meter drains the longer you hold your shield up, and I assume that once it drains completely you can't use your shield for a while. This is so that you can't just hold your shield up and be invulnerable the entire time like in every other LoZ game.

This really needed to come out before Skyrim for my to be interested. Now it'll be March before i have time for it... And all that dust on the wii may render it unplayable. Nintendo's lack of timing strikes again.

Lack of timing? If they pushed this game back any farther it would be a terrible move since there isn't anything out there for people to look forward to for their Wii. Nintendo has to have something big for the holidays. It's a pretty solid release date, really. Remember, they have a new console launching next year.

I think what he means is that it should come out a bit sooner, maybe 2 weeks earlier on November 4th. I've never played an Elder Scrolls game, but I guess they can be addicting and eat your time.

I'm not sure how much of an overlap there is of a Zelda and Elder Scroll market, but I don't they would hurt each other too much.

As for the game, I'll wait for the up-rezzed WiiU version, most likely, making it the first Zelda since Majora's Mask that I didn't buy at launch.

Yay? Either way, it's ugly and it breaks the immersion. When you go to as much trouble as they do to create a world, I don't want to constantly be pulled out of it and reminded that i'm playing a game.

Developers: If you can't eliminate the HUDs completely through contextual integration (think Dead Space's and stasis bars,) at least make them fade until they're necessary.

Zelda is one of those game series that makes me wish Nintendo would stop making hardware and do a Sega, except we'd get quality games with Mascots. (Sorry, Sonic)

Can you imagine how beautiful an HD Zelda would look with the production values of Elder Scrolls or Rage? It would blow minds and sell buckets. They're always excellent games, but they're feeling… Hollow nowadays, compared to the experience we're getting from other games with prettier graphics, dialogue and a story that is brought forward in things other than walls of text.
