This sounds like a lot of fun. Hopefully I can find some time to work another design on to my plate :)

Stuff like this makes me glad America isn't getting Xenoblade on the Wii. It all balances out.

@MBMBaM fan I'm in Canada too. Sad news, but what the hell, I'm going to design one and send it in anyway. If worst comes to worst (or best) and I win, I'll see if I can get it shipped to my mailbox in the States. They should do it internationally though, and if it's out of the 50 states just have us pay for shipping.

I can draw, but not design things neatly on the computer. Waah.

The games you win will all be Cooking Mama.

I wonder if copyrighted IP's are off limits? Would it be okay if I did a design that had characters from different video games in it? Or is it best to just keep it generic?

@iceytoa1 That's what I'm thinking too. They probably would be cool with "artistic representations" of existing characters. Kinda like this shirt on Threadless... http://www.threadless.com/product/2347/Historical_Reconstitution/tab,guys/style,shirt

At least I hope they are!

Picture a t shirt that is white now go to the top of the page see where it says joystiq yes now use magic powers (or photoshop) and make that be on the plane white T (that's a band).Nobody will come up with a more unique t shirt than my idea.

@byaboy I was thinking the same thing. Plain T with joystiq logo across the front would be best. Its an interesting & cool logo & doesnt need anything else.

Question:
I'm more of a pen and paper kind of guy. If the idea is good, but the MS paint execution is...maybe not so much, would my work be chosen over someone that has an idea that is not a good but is a digital DaVinci?

See I was thinking of having it sideways going downwards on the left side of t shirt with that whole worn effect.

Yeah I Like WWE shirts to much :/

Why JPEGs and not PNGs?

Posted: Aug 22nd 2011 5:42PM shard765 said

@Gooblechev Probably cause PNGS are usually larger in file size, and one of the coolest things about PNGS is that they can have an alpha channel which really just isn't needed for a proof like this. They probably just want to save bandwidth.

@shard765 Depends on the size of the file and the level of compression in the JPEG you're comparing. For moderately sized images, PNG should still be comparable in filesize.

Seems like sending a format that supports alpha channels the first time around would be better. Can't think of any shirt designs that don't use them, haha.

Oh well! I just have a thing against JPEGs. Even ones with max quality.
