Same save across PC and OnLive? Now that would be a great feature.

@InkSix

It's really the only thing that can justify its existence to me. I know their service is never going to be the same as my PC. I can buy all the same hardware they can and I don't have to worry about latency issues of any kind. But if I can save on my PC then start playing again on my phone or laptop while I'm away from my PC (but still in proximity to reasonable connection speeds) then I'm starting to see some value in the service. It starts to speak to me in the same manner has Vita is speaking to me in connection to PS3.

@koehler83

For a single player game like this (where action can be minimal depending on playstyle) I'd say the service is very much useful, it's nice to know that if you purchase the game mistakenly thinking you can run it there's a decent alternative.

That's a very good point as well.
Mistakenly buy the game and your computer can't handle it, however not all is lost since you can play your onlive copy. Then hold onto your PC version for when you update it.

Onlive is going to be a great service to go along PC gaming as it matures I think.

@Jawmuncher

Many people, including myself, originally viewed OnLive as an either/or solution to PC gaming. You either bought games or used OnLive. It existing as a hybrid service the compliments your existing library makes a lot of sense, and seems more useful to me. Some percentage of people may will use it as a dedicated client, but I always appreciate options.

I think that a good feature for OnLive to add would be the ability to add mods in a similar fashion to Android's ability to add third-party apps. Users having that kind of option would be better than just having mod lobbies and non-mod lobbies; that could be confusing for some users.

And Gamestop, of course, is still stuck in denial/on physical media.

A bunch of pretentious old men playing at running the world. But the world left them behind long ago. They can smell their death, and the sound they'll make rattling their cage will serve as a warning to the rest. Cloud gaming is the future.

@Once known as Shadsy Alright. I know GameStop royally sucks, and their latest effort at making us hate them is working out perfectly, but the whole rant on physical media is untrue and unwarranted. For PC games, yes, absolutely. For 90% of GameStop's business? No.

At any rate, how is GameStop ignorant to the Digital Distribution future? They just purchased Impulse!

@Epoque Really I just wanted to quote Deus Ex 1 because it somehow seemed appropriate.

But certainly not your V-card. You can hang on to that for a little while longer.

I'm going to be honest, i'd rather go for physical media.
OnLive is a great show of technology and what it can achieve, but if anything happened to the company, your internet or their servers then you are without your games that you payed for temporarily or possibly permanently.

@iceytoa1 What if they added a feature to export game saves to a physical media of your own?

@iceytoa1 same thing if your HDD malfunctions, or your processor overheats and melts, or anything within your PC fails. Nothing in electronics is failure-proof :P

anyways, having both onlive and pc versions which share the same save file would be very convenient for many I'm sure, as some already stated "I'm on my trip and I have my laptop which doesn't have "x game" installed, I can still play it provided I have access to a fast enough connection"

@iceytoa1 That would be true to some people if you ONLY get the Onlive version, but if retail games comes with an Onlive code and you can share save files, there's no negative to the service what so ever.

@MarkHawk Thats not the point, if the company went bust or was sued you would lose everything you'd paid for.

I wasn't sold on this game until I saw the trailers yesterday....only thing is, I wish it was third person...if it was I'd buy it right now...

I'll wait until this comes down under $20 on steam

I hope updated versions of the game (1.1, 1.2, etc) improve load times. I have no timer on me, but compared to the Deus Ex load comparison by IGN, I feel Onlive times push just about 40 seconds. Otherwise, I'm loving the Onlive version.

I'm not sure why they're packing a copy of OnLive with the PC version. If you've got a PC capable of playing Deus Ex wouldn't you exclusively be using the PC version? Seems like it would make more sense to pack the OnLive code with the console versions.

@Faceless Troll

I'm pretty sure Microsoft and Sony wouldn't be okay with that. The only option would then be the PC, which has no master to tell publishers what they have to do.

i seem to be more excited about the prospect for mods. did i read this correctly, that they may have mod's for games for onlive? if they can only get latency's fixed up better, then i'll be all over it for my fps fix. miss fps gaming on the pc.

@FunguyThefun well yeah, not the absolute max settings but OK settings. There's also a bit of compression though, but it all plays and looks fine!
