wow it's pretty odd that they'd sell a bundle with M rated games in it. But cool nevertheless.

Not really. Killzone, COD, Infamous, Halo etc have all been part of bundles in the past. So its not out of the ordinary. Perhaps for Canada it is but not in the US.

Makes sense, considering over half the kids playing M games probably aren't even in the age range for T games.

Not really. My 360 bundle came with Halo 3 and Fable II. It's definitely not unheard of.

@TB Actually, it's not ordinary up here in Canada either. We typically get the same console combos that the States get, the only difference ends up being the price that we pay. Exchange rate sucks, but that's how it happens.

I mean, we've actually been on the upturn for the exchange rate currently, but I can bet you we're still paying more for games.

Don't see the point of Halo 3. Few people barely play Halo 3 already, and the map packs you probably won't be able to play most playlists anyway.

Good thing there's that whole "4 player co-op campaign" thingy to round out the package, then.

Huh, that's not a bad price. Alan Wake and Halo Wars are kinda mediocre titles, but the other three and a new Xbox for $300 sounds like a nice pack.

Well, aren't we vocal today. I didn't think Alan Wake had a fanbase. I didn't think it was bad, I just wasn't impressed. (You can beat the entire game with just the pistol, and I wanted to strangle that editor.) I haven't played Fable 3, I admit, but I was under the impression it was well received. Wrong on both counts, it seems. I'll go crawl back to my cave, dodging thrown rocks and avoiding eye contact.

@The Blank Mage Returns Halo Wars is a awesome console RTS. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather play Starcraft 2 but it's a good game in it's own right.

Gameplay itself is okay, with a few lackluster moments, but I thought the story was pretty well done. I mean, sure there were a few obvious cliches and other annoying elements, but overall I really enjoyed the story of the game. I felt it was a unique story that was pretty well told.

Honestly out of the pack, those two are the best.
Alan Wake can never get enough love from me, Halo Wars is a decent attempt at an RTS on console, and the cutscenes are phenominal.

Fable 3 has been the weakest fable, and this is coming from a guy who owns limited edition copies of every Fable game. Halo 3 has a sucessor and Gears 2 was a disapointment. Nevertheless, this is a great deal.

I think Microsoft is overplaying their hand here.

Last time Sony did a PS3 price cut, they responded by shuffling their SKU's and adding more hard drive space to their $300 model. They called it a "price cut", but it wasn't.

Now Sony does another PS3 price cut, and they take the "Nintendo Ambassador" approach. At almost no cost to themselves, they pack in download codes for a bunch of 3-year-old games, and stay with the $300 price point again.

At $250, the PS3 is clearly a much better value now. With all the money they take in on XBox Live, Microsoft definitely has the flexibility to discount their cheaper hardware to $250.

If they don't think Sony will catch up in sales when they have the cheaper product, they are mistaken.

the PS3 alone at $250 is a better value than a 360 w/ 5 games at $300? how is that, again? and another thing, does anyone still really even care about sales numbers?

@copa Sony lowered the cost cause of the hacking incident. Thats the only reason. Plus even tho that the PS3 has better graphics, most games are made for the 360 first and are ported to the PS3 and dont look as good on that system, if you have a big enough HDTV to notice. I have both systems. Live vs PSN hands down Live wins.

man, just make the 250gb version $199 and let me buy my own games.

I want to play alan wake and gears 2 but have zero interest in the others.

I just hate how companies keep doing this apple thing and insist on getting me to pay $300 to get started.

PS3: "Oh Baby! You know you want me! $300 and you can do whatever you want with me... Okay, Okay. $250"

Xbox 360: "Please buy me! I'll throw in an extra game if you buy me! Two games? Okay, three games. C'mon! Four? Are you crazy? I can't afford that! Okay, but you better by a gold membership! How many? Ha Ha, good one! Wait, are you serious? I have a family to feed. Think about the children. I shouldn't be doing this. Okay, five games, but you better buy a Kinect!"

And yet the 360 sells 5 millions units ahead of the ps3 at all times. Both systems are great, but Microsoft has much better bundles and deals than Sony does.

@eNriqeu Probably not, I think this is just MS retaliating. They very rarely let the Playstation brand get away with anything that would even remotely threaten Xbox sales.

@eNriqeu How would it hit them hard? It's been about a week. If PS3 sales pick up by a lot then MS will just follow Sony and announce a price cut, then it's back to the same situation.

I believe MS has been making more from each console sold than Sony for a while anyway, so a price cut is very likely, just to keep the balance.
