@MercShame the devs don't get any money when you preorder a game, and you can buy the complete soundtracks with far more than just three tracks each for cheap on cdbaby.
also putting money down to preorder a game is stupid. don't do it because the consumer is getting cheated in a very real sense by preorders

@Rocksman mind explaining how developers get no money when you preorder concidering you are paying for the game before its released and even when you put part of the money down you pay the rest when you pick it up so all the money from the sale stillg oes to the devs

I am asking a legitimate question here, not being a jerk: How does the consumer get screwed by preordering? I often preorder, usually through amazon, for a game I know I want day 1. Never had a problem with it, it always arrives on release day and if they lower the price after I preorder I get the lower price. I'm having a hard time seeing how I get screwed on by preordering.

@(Unverified) Preordering doesnt harm the devs one bit. The company buys the game from them to sell, and you are paying that company. No harm done, plus preording helps you by letting you pay the game off bit by bit. Any one that thinks preordering hurts the devs are dumb. Looking at you @Rocksman.

Now will I be able to keep the bonus disc or will my case already have been opened to remove it?

Oh you'll get to keep your bonus disc to help you remove the price sticker they stick on your new game that isn't even shrink-wrapped.

I'll be getting Bit. Trip Complete the day it comes out. I was a little pissed that I found out about it a couple of days after I got Runner off of the Wiiware store, but seeing as how I'd gotten a 2000 Wii point card from a friend, I'm not that put out by it.

Is there any difference between the 3DS version and Wii version, besides the obvious of 3d and portability? As I have both I'm not sure which I want to pick it up for, but I don't want to get both.

If your Wii is hooked up to a rad sound system, get that version. The 3DS version is supposed to have "new control schemes" or something, so I'd wait for a review to see if the controls actually work on there or not before going for that version.

How come everyone who has an opinion that's different from yours is a troll these days?
You do realize that Gamestop was just caught red-handed tampering with products and then selling them as new, right? Perhaps that's the source of Neverendingsoda's disdain towards Gamestop?

I really liked the Bit.Trip Core game. If you haven't tried it already on the Wii, pick up the free demo from the Wii Store.

Uh, how about no? I tend to buy from Gamestop quite a bit if they have a cool pre-order bonus for a game that I prefer or if there's a good sale going on.
You could just ignore the articles altogether and not comment in them.

@Heffer Wolfe Its the fact he's referencing one article which has nothing to do with this one. The other one was based around deus ex and the online passes while this article doesnt even deal with the same consoles used

@Theneverendingsoda Its the fact Joystiq has credibility that they would report all the technological news and not be selective shows how great of a site they are and it would make joystiq look bad if they became biased
Posted: Aug 27th 2011 5:27AM Roflrex said
@Theneverendingsoda So basically, you want Joystiq to take the Gamestop code out of the internet they provide. Way to go, you are what you hate.

As someone who bought all the soundtracks as they came out, I gotta say this is a good collection. It just doesn't include the guest contributions (who are sometimes really good), and the 20 second ambient cutscenes (which are entirely unnecessary).

@Theneverendingsoda Ya it sounds like your the troll. People dont like what GameStop did. But 1) its perfectly legal 2) that was a different thread 3) Joystiq is a legit site so it has to report everything it can.

if its all they can come up with, and they think its relevant to the readers, they can post it. it would be nice if we had filters that would automatically hide articles we dont want to see. for me, anything with 'iphone', 'ios', or 'ipad' just gets in the way.

@Theneverendingsoda Although I disagree with the poster that called your comment a "troll," Gamestop is one of the biggest and most influential retailers in the US. It would defy journalistic integrity for Joystiq to refuse to post Gamestop-related posts.
That being said, it would be a classy move for Gamestop to work out a deal to help developers profit from used game sales.

Gamestop's good, for the most part.
If you don't have a local game store that rocks = Gamestop's great.
If you have a local game store that rocks = Gamestop's a jerk.
Having a good local game store is awesome considering that they can buy your games for 10x the price that Gamestop's offering, they test and check their used game discs and consoles with more care than most Gamestop employees, and they sell used games for a very understandable price compared to Gamestop.
Not only that, but Gamestop has been known to have uninformed, openly biased, or uncaring employees.
Not always the case, but for many it is. Including me. The Gamestop I used to go to was great - then the manager was transferred to a Gamestop in the middle of nowhere... because his ex got into a higher position than him and "recommended" it.
Now that Gamestop is filled with employees who put on fake smiles and only know what's what through the computer. ...the old manager knew every big title for every console, went out to several conventions, and gave loyal customers freebies and discounts.
The new guys were greatly horrible in comparison.
Now I only deal with my local game store - who are lightyears better. I only went to that Gamestop for the manager.

Oh and Gamestop's a jerk in the way where they make most of their profits through Used game sales. Which the money never goes towards the devs. They encourage buying games used for the most part.
... the local game store I go to has better quality control, a larger variety of used games, and a larger AMOUNT of Used games - yet they still encourage buying games new and preordering to encourage developers.
