And everyone cheers that video game stores will have one less shitty game on it.

(YEs, all licensed games but maybe 3 have been 100% shit)

@Faenix

Agreed x 100.

All licensed games I can think of totally blow. The only one I have seen played for fun was the Incredibles game for the original Xbox because it was the only game my 6 year old cousin had.

Just a 50-60 dollar waste of cash in parents' wallets.

@Faenix King Kong had a pretty good game adaptation. Beating the crap out of three T-rexes with a tree trunk, snapping their jaws and throwing them off a waterfall is one of my fondest game experiences.

@phatman516 I remember playing the incredibles on my silver game boy advance sp oh the fun of getting the cat out of tree I was stuck on level so I looked at the Manuel that came with it and on one page their was a code that wasn't covered and it was a level code (it used level codes instead of saving) I also got the game on the old xbox I was the only person at my school with a xbox every one else had a PS2.

You misread my post. I never said anything was amazing, but my COUSIN enjoyed the Incredibles game because it was the ONLY game he had.

I really meant movie tie in games, like this Avengers game, or things like Iron Man or Harry Potter games.

I don't mean the games that are the shadows of movies. So things like Batman: AA is moreso its own thing, not particularly based on the movie.

I'm betting he was referring to movie/tv licenses. That would obviously exclude the awesomeness that is Arkham Asylum. Not farmiliar with Transformers game, but Ultimate Alliance was awful, Incredibles probably was better than that.

@Fo0dNippl3 While what Shadowbender said indicate that they might (news I hadn't heard yet), movie games don't always follow the movies they are based on. One related example that comes to mind is Super-Skrull being an enemy in one of the Fantastic Four movie games. (Rise of the Silver Surfer, I think)

I'm sure that somebody is making an Avengers game. It seems highly unlikely that this movie would come out without an accompanying game.

The Fantastic Four don't exist in the Marvel-Avenger film universe. UGH.

lol thats kind of a good point. Who does SuperSkrull copy his powers from if there is no FF? I knew they got themselves in a corner when they had the same actor play Cap and Johnny Storm. They would need a different actor for the Torch. Hey they changed Hulk and WarMachine actors already.

It's a different continuity. You see, Captain America's a film by Marvel Studios, while the Fantastic Four were before Marvel Studios was founded. Universal do that film, and most likely Marvel would recover the rights eventually and do its own version. (Hopefully would do the same with Spiderman and X-Men when Sony and Fox contract it's over).

Just because they haven't made an appearance in the movies doesn't mean they don't exist in the universe. They can have their villians and even mention them but I don't think they can show the Fantastic 4.

I am surprised Sega wasn't making it since they made all of the other stand alone pre-Avengers superhero movie games. Maybe there was some issues over who owned the rights between Sega and THQ.

I have to agree. I enjoyed both MUA 1 & 2. Sure they weren't the best games I ever played, but they were highly enjoyable. And personally I don't thing there was that much of a difference between 1&2. These games have gotten them most hours of play of any in my collection - mostly thanks to my son. We'd excitedly welcome a MUA 3!

At first I am thinking, oh the Skrulls are confirmed for the Avengers movie but here is the odd thing, depending on how long ago this game was cancelled. Most of these characters don't look like their movie counterparts.

Most noticable is Thor, wearing something more like Ultimate Thor vs. the movie version, which is more like his current comic version. Same with Captain America wearing a more Ultimate costume vs. what we have been shown as his new movie costume.

So it is possible that an Avengers game was being developed but this maybe wasn't "The Avengers: The Movie: The Game" if you get my drift. Though typically we get some sort of announcement of what company is making the game, like Sega getting the rights to Iron Man, Thor and Captain America before the movies were in production.

It is possible that because this movie is being produced now under Disney that Sega lost the rights and Disney/Marvel are shopping around. Activision has a more powerful marketing department and could release another "Marvel Ultimate Alliance/Legends" style game but with these characters.

despite the game being crappy or not, i have nothing but respect for the artists/developers on such projects that have to deal with rushed deadlines and limited budget just to meet borderline unrealistic deadlines set by bean counters.

i wish them all the best that they find future projects that are more reasonable.

If they own the rights. Fox only owns the rights of doom, galactus, ss, and the FF. They dont own super skrull as hes a character who crosses titles.

Doom is a crossover villain, anyone can fight him and it would make sense, but Super-Skrull makes no sense without the F4.

@TheRedComet Secret Invasion and the Kree/Skrull war disagrees with you.

The version of Doom used in the FF movies is Ultimate Doom so he cannot. The Skrulls are used more than Super Skrull is and the way things are going for the FF they are going to revert to MARVEL at some point anyway.

Well, aren't you the expert.

Wait, no, no you aren't, whether a character "crosses titles" or not is irrelevant. The Punisher was a Spiderman villain before he got his own book(s), and has been handled by multiple film companies; Spiderman was a member of the Avengers but Sony has the film rights tied up and won't be in Marvel's Avengers movie; Daredevil and Spidey often cross paths and he is tied up by Fox; I mean really I could go on and on but my point is this:that's now how licensing works.
