I was told Amazon.com had it listed for $100, but i couldn't find it on there. It'll probably be around that price range since the elite premium is $50.

Yes, it's listed as 99.99 as of right now.

For 80 bucks or less, I might seriously consider this one.
A $50 subscription (for free) which covers all DLC for the initial year of release? Totally worth it. Plus the extras, aren't half bad.

But if its more than 80? I'll wipe my ass with my current copy of Mw2 and sent it in the mail to Infinity Ward as a "thanks for nothing"

@DasMadHatter Couldn't have said it better myself. The Elite premium is only worth it if they actually release 4 map packs, but IW games haven't released more than 2 in any time period. Even still, if the Hardened Edition is $80 as per the norm, I will consider getting this since I'll be getting special packaging and content that's worth over $50 for only $20 more, and will essentially save me money if they even release two map packs (assuming at $15 a piece). And that news that all DLC downloaded during Elite is permenant rather than like PSN Plus is quite nice.

But if they even try to charge $100, they can kiss my ass.

@Ryguy226 At the conference they said that they'll release DLC _every_ month, including maps and new game modes. God damn it, why I am considering getting Elite?

I expected $100 as well. It was time to start pushing the envelope on LE prices. If people will pay $15 a pop for DLC without hesitation, they can start paying more for LEs.

Profits will go HIGH! (raises right arm 135 degrees)

I spent $125 total on Black Ops. Hardened Edition and the DLC. If this is $125 or less, I'm in.

Although, Treyarch kicks out more DLC than IW has...

@tonyf36 I certainly hope this is true all over, even still, if the price is ever truly announced as $100, I'll hold Best Buy to their pricing, they can't just go back on that.....can they?

I noticed that the pre-order link has been grayed out and is no longer clickable so it might have either been an error and short fire sale.

the official price hasnt been announced yet so they set the price higher so when its announced you wont get mad if it is 99.99 but im telling you its 79.99. all hardened editions have been this and will still be this. the 99.99 is a placeholder amount, just like they use the 1st of a month as one when they arent sure of an exact release date

@tonyf36 .. while u are right in that previous hardened versions were 79.99 they were always followed up by a prestige version ... there is NO prestige version this go around. so 99.99 does seems like the price there going to go with since there is no 150 $ version to gouge people with this time.

They might have charged $80 in the past but that doesn't mean they always will. Nintendo always charged $200 for new consoles until they charged $250 for the Wii.

An extra $20 for the Hardened edition when it includes a voucher for a $50 service just doesn't add up. $99 makes a lot more sense.

Help me out guys. I'm already on the hook for two copies. One for me and one for my son. What I do, when it comes to DLC, is put points on my son's profile and buy the DLC on my Xbox. Then he goes to his moms house and downloads it to his Xbox since he purchased the content with his gamertag.

Do you guys think that will work for me here if I buy one Hardened Edition and one regular copy of the game? I just don't want to redeem codes on his account only to find out that the content will only work on the Xbox it was originally downloaded on.

@Cletus VanDamme actually as long as the code is a redeemable code that you can use on the XBL marketplace, downloads save to the profile. If you download it on any xbox it will work on that xbox, but you have to use the profile when you access it. No limits to downloads

@Backpack

When using points instead of redeemable codes the DLC purchased is married to the gamertag that purchases it AND the Xbox that it is purchased on. I'm just wondering if redeemable codes work the same way. That is why I use my son's gamertag to purchase stuff on my Xbox. That how we get our maps with only a single purchase. It's worked great on MW2 and Black Ops but as I said, that was by using points and not redeemable codes. I just don't want to drop $100 on a hardened edition only to get the shaft later on.

If they follow the BC2 model then map packs will be free with VIP pass. It's the expansions that cost money (Vietnam).

so xbox owners to have the FULL experience of this year COD
1- 80 dollars the hardened edition
2- 50 dollars the COD elite (map packs included)
3- 60 dollars xbox live gold suscription

so basically a 190 for a single year rinse and repeat next year

I really hope this fail very hard, because if this become a success every single developer out there would think that gouging their customers its a way to go

Yes, that's all MW3 is. A MW2 expansion with some "elite" bs that BF has been giving for free for years.

Why don't you XYAB your way to GameStop in your moms mini-van while I sit here and make fun of you again.
