White PS3 coming to Europe and Australia this November

If you're currently taking up residence in Europe or Australia and don't already possess a PlayStation 3, you might want to hold off on making the big purchase until the holiday season. According to retailer listings in the two continents, Sony will launch the 320GB Ceramic White PS3 model (which has been available in Japan for almost a year) in November for €300/£250 or AUD$448.

Why would you wait? Isn't this particular SKU of the consoles functionally identical to those currently available? Well, sure, but don't you want as many options available to you as is possible? Do you prefer if someone makes all your decisions for you? You've really gotta start thinking outside the box, man.

Color never mattered to me, make it more energy efficient, and lower the price when possible and I'm cool with that.

damnit, I want the white one here in the U.S.!

I don't have a PS3 yet, but I will not be buying this white one. Matte attracts more dirt (where as glossy is a fingerprint magnet) and I wouldn't like it to stand as much as it would on a white console.

Take the PS3 out of the coal mine and you should be fine on dirt and dust. Or to completely resolve the issue, stock up on Clorox wipes as should they go on sale in your area from time to time.

I'd buy white just because it's different from what everyone else has.

I'd buy a White PS3, sure. Heck, I'd buy any color PS3 that isn't black. I really like differently colored consoles :)

(but mostly I would just be looking for an excuse to upgrade from my old 'phat' ps3 ^_^)

Black is the only color I need. Most other colors are simpy ugly in your standard entertainment center.

I don't mind only having the black console really, I just don't want my family to take the blame for it, for the next 147+ years...

White consoles are making a comeback! (black looks better for consumer electronics though, IMO).

I like variant colors. If black is the standard, I'm cool with a white variant. Call it individualism or being rebellious, there's just something fun about having something a bit different.

what ever happen to shipping consoles in multiple colors? all we get now is colored controllers.

Honestly though if your PS3 is hot enough that the color of the unit would actually matter, you have bigger things to sort out.

I have enough trouble keeping dust off a black PS3. This won't look so immaculate after a while.

We haven't had a different color ps3 since the limited edition gray ps3 in North America. One thing microsoft has over sony in the USA is the limited edition consoles.

Also before anyone says it I know about colorware but still I would have loved that FF13 console japan got and that Tales one is looking nice also.
