What kind of chump Sith gets gunned down from a single shot?
Probably the same kind that gets thrown down a shaft.

Enjoy your "NO. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!", and your Phantom Menace characters added to Jabba's Palace, and....well hell, enjoy all the new "improvements" but Jedi got the worst of them. Fitting.

Def. something Han Solo fans will love. Every class trailer makes me want to level each one again and again (hey why not). Personally I will start with Sith warrior tho.

This game's style/gameplay looks nothing like the "Deceived" trailer let on a few years back. I hate concept trailers, they give me such wicked blue balls.
I hope this breaks out of the Warcraft clone mold in a Star Wars skin when it releases. Still hard to tell, but I have my fears still after Galaxies that "Star Wars MMO =/= win" necessarily.

Can you not see the irony in it being called the "Deceived" trailer? We've been duped again! Drat.

Bioware Austin opted for the safer, established path that Blizzard paved, and short of rebuilding the entire game there's no way of getting away from the similarities at this point. But it is an incredibly well-polished clone with lots of great new features and ideas that will likely make it quite inviting for Azerothian refugees.
Pretty much all the class abilities shown in the CGI trailers are in the game in one form or another, but of course it's much less action-y and much more "stand still and channel"-y.

Outside of the game mechanics is what I'm worried about too. Like will it just be a grind up to 60 before fun starts which is primarily raids and arenas? There are more ways to make an MMO design than just grind to top level then start raiding. Still waiting for an MMO that makes every level fun, not just the top level.

Unless you live in a box that is the whole point of SWTOR. Its not supposed to feel like a race to "60". Every level has a point. Decisions matter.
Did you not get the memo?

The way they handled the PvP arenas during the Labour weekend stress test was to have everyone power-leveled as soon as they zoned into the match. You still only had the abilities you'd unlocked thus far, but a level 10 was effectively as strong as a level 60 or whatever the cap was. Not sure if that's going to be how they run things at retail.
As for raiding, the one raid they've shown off publicly (http://www.gametrailers.com/video/operation-eternity-star-wars/716309) looks like pretty standard MMO raiding to me. Tank, heal, DPS, don't stand in the fire.
From what I saw the game is more about refining an existing model than innovating a new one. For whatever it's worth, they're quite proficient at refining, but you won't be blown away by a brave new world of MMO design.

If by "Did you not get the memo?" means "did you get into beta?", the answer is no. So I don't have any firsthand experience on what the game is like. And I don't care how many times the devs say the leveling is meaningful up to top, because every MMO claims a "rich experience for players of all levels". They mean well, but hardly ever manage to execute it.'
Not saying it won't happen here, just staying cautious with my wallet until a few months go by.

I'm in the Beta and I can safely say it's a very unfun grind and spam fest. Spam two attacks and grind your way. Though, I suppose it doesn't take as many battles as other MMOs, it still very much feels like a grind with crap rewards.
It's a competent game but nothing new like they claimed it was going to be. Just slightly more focus on quests but they're still not fun or rewarding.
I'm waiting for the Beta to relaunch, hopefully it'll be more interesting then.
Definitely don't set your hopes up for it being different from anything else or similar to Kotor in any way.

I like the Indiana Jones reference in the trailer. Also, if there is a "Scoundrel" branch, I also expect a "Nerfherder" branch.

Why does anyone wear any armor in the Star Wars universe? Stormtroopers are easily defeated with rocks, and now these ones in what appears to be Bioware's bastardized version of Mandolarian armor are easily obstructed by dirt being thrown in their face? sheesh
'Oh nose! I have dirt in my eyes! Oh, wait... I'm wearing a helmet..." Then the others get mowed down by a blaster bolt each... You would think they would either develop better armor or not wear the damn stuff...

Bad guys need to start getting better aim, it's like they hire these goons who can't shoot themselves out of a paper bag. I wish I actually liked Star Wars so I could get into this game. Played MMO's since 2001 and I love Bioware, I'm just probably the only nerd in the world who didn't get into Star Wars.

Apparently YOU'VE never heard of the Imperial Stormtrooper Markmanship Academy. All storm troopers must attend it to graduate.
Its obvious in the films.

I just found this while reading things on the internet. Looks legit but I cannot confirm this, I am copying this from user [] who uploaded this. (The user name is right bracket left bracket?) Anyways here is what he posted and claims is an internal message.
Internal Memorandum Regarding Star Wars: The Old Republic Release Date.
Date: September 12th, 2011.
Subject: Release date window change and subsequent announcement.
A decision has been made to change the release date window of the third quarter fiscal year (Holiday 2011) to fourth quarter fiscal year beginning on January 1st, 2012 and ending March 31st, 2012 for the PC game Star Wars: The Old Republic. This decision has come behest the recommendations of the internal testing and development teams under Bioware Austin. The previously announced beta testing weekends in September have been delayed until October to allow for a more stable build and smaller client, as well as upgraded servers to handle the increased client bandwidth usage. Investors feel a rushed completion of the game is not ideal and the earnings can be pushed to the next fiscal quarter in light of the anticipated success of other releases. More will be elaborated on during the Electronic Arts Quarter 2 2012 Earnings Conference Call presented on November 1st, 2011. This announcement comes to allow Bioware to officially announce the delay and for retailers to adjust their release date schedules accordingly.

Other than changing the phone number out, that is an un-edited version of what he posted. I hope its not true but that means the game will not come out until Feb 2012 mot likely :(
