I don't know why, but I can't seem to bring myself to let go of my launch 60gb that has like 50 hours (maybe) of playtime on it, in lieu of one of these.

Maybe the phat one just holds a special place in my heart... Or something...

Who can say. Maybe I subconsciously hate the phat PS3, and I'd play one more if I had a slim.

Wanna buy a launch 60gb?

If you've only played 50 hours on your launch, launch meaning 5 year old, console then why the hell are you even thinking upgrade?

Seriously, that comes out to 10 hours a year. I've spent more time playing a 360...and I don't even own (or want) one.

Judging by their past record on having sales in-stock, there are about 4 of these in the country.

It's a great deal when you consider that this much storage space on the PS Vita will cost you a THOUSAND DOLLARS in proprietary memory cards.

And is simply unavailable in proprietary 360 storage.

yea...but quite honestly, when the PS Vita comes out...4 months after, someone will come up with a Micro SD to PS VITA card (whatever it's called) ADAPTER.

They did it for Memory Stick Pro...and it saved quite a bit of money for us "NEED TO HAVE EVERYTHING ON PSP" users.

But this is one hell of a good deal.

You don't need to use proprietary 360 storage; the system supports USB memory up to 16GB. A 16GB USB stick is $14, while a 16GB Vita mem card is $72.

I'm not defending MS here. The 16GB limit on USB storage and the fact that you can't use your own hard drives is very lame indeed. But the Vita's situation is a lot worse.

It pretty much looks like you're defending MS. I wish Vita did use an SD or micro SD card. Proprietary anything is annoying; but arguing that the Vita's memory card is expensive while backing up Microsoft and their ridiculously overpriced hard drives is hypocritical.

Kind of funny we're talking about storage space because I just swapped my 80GB (semi-PS2 compatible) PS3 hard drive with a 500GB one for $50 yesterday. It literally took me under 2 minutes to do the switcheroo, but I had to wait two hours for the system to backup the data to my external and another hour to put the data back on after the swap. I have no idea how people with the 4GB 360 or any PS3 with under 60GB manage.

My old 80GB semi-BC PS3 still works perfectly fine. Luckily I've never had a console fail on me (even the ol' SNES hasn't kicked the bucket yet). Most of my friends have 360s (Original) and have had to get it fixed at least once. Out of a dozen or so friends with PS3s, only one guy's broke (couldn't read Blurays anymore).

Actually, I have no idea how my PS3 is still working fine. It's been folding since the day I got it, so I guess it's always on and running. And a few thousand hours of gameplay have been squeezed out of it. Hundreds of hours of Bluray movies + another several hundred from Netflix. Did I mention it's on a shelf in my dorm so the airflow isn't that great?
*knock on wood* FUU... my door is made of metal!! Knock on metal?

ARGGGHH. If this was the holiday price, I'd have the money to get it (or ask for it), but no go this early. I hope there are some good sales on the 160gb slims, though a drop to $150 is probably too much to hope for ;-)

Since when has 320GB been an "obscene amount of storage"? What is this 2002? 320GB is chump change. I don't understand why they don't have a 500GB model out by now

@Chris DPSN AggieCEO XBLThe Aggi Maybe because most games on psn are about 1gig and installing games is like 2 Wichita you can delete when you are done with the game.

I just bought the inFamous 2 bundle on Saturday. I'm not really sad that I missed the sale, since I did get InFamous 2 with it. I just have to buy the first game, now.

Nice Job Toys r us you lower the price and than you have none in stock. Its strange how every store within 50 miles of me are already sold out and on top of that its sold out online and it hasn't even been a day since this news was confirmed. None the less i think this is typical of this to happen here at Toys r us. If this was Amazon or Best Buy it would be another story.
